    Nice Hoover Model 28

On eBay. A little spendy, but notice how good the wheels and bag are. Paint looks good. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-HOOVER-MODEL-28-Art-Deco-Upright-Vacuum-Vac-/270661719954?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f04b21792

Second "Hoover" Comes from Donor to the Home for Wayward Vacuum Cleaners

I think Eureka toyed with that color into the 80s? Indeed, the cord/hood grommet and colored cord hooks suggest a very early 1400 model. Think someone once said the 1400 series made its debut in 1974? Also a very early plastic-base model. Thats an exquisite burgundy Eureka!

    Eureka Shop Manual

I was watching that but in the end, for me, the starting bid combined with the shipping was a little too much. Perhaps if the listing included more pics of the contents...

    My snazzy Hoover Junior!

Fred's hose To me, that looks like a replacement for the old 28/61 style machines. Or maybe model 64.

    Found some things today!

In 1974, with plastic cord hooks.

    Found some things today!

That Eureka is from 1974 or earlier. Notice the metal cord hooks. The same Eureka (with plastic cord hooks) is in my 1974 Bennett Bros catalog. Eureka made certain models for years. Nice Eureka. Looking forward to seeing it all polished up!

    anyone tried forever bags?

A lot depends on what model of machine you will use the bags on. Ive tried Hoover cloth bags for type A (very similar to the ones being marketed) and was very happy. Also used DVC cloth bag for Riccar/Panasonic upright and was very pleased.

    Hoover Concept Question

I too think the DAM was deserted too soon. Too bad the handle/body joint was too weak and the wheels are too small. The DAM will sink right into a loose plush carpet. And forget tilting and rolling a DAM on soft/loose carpet. My only gripe about the Concept series (I dont use the dusting tools)...
