What Carpet/Rug Shampooer and/or Extractor Do You Use?

I use a teal-colored Model B-8 for scrubbing, buffing, and shampooing; a Model 1739 Epic Series (doesn't say "Floor Pro" anywhere on the machine--only in the manual ... weird) for nap lifting, and a Rug Washer (teal cover and base that went with the teal Model 1205s) for rugs and mats. My Rug...

    Lux 5000 -- 2 models?

Thanks for your response, Tom and Mark David. I did a little digging and discovered that there were at least 2 models of the Lux 5000 that were manufactured: the manual one, as I mentioned in my previous post, that was the last in the line of the Ambassadors (Model C101s) and an automatic...

    Lux 5000 -- 2 models?

Below is a pic from an eBay listing for a Lux 5000 which I thought was the last version of the Ambassadors since I have only known about the ones that are Model C101K. The Ambassadors were, of course, the budget model without the automatic shut-off feature when the bag is full. So, I was...

    Electrolux Floor Polisher/Rug Washer

Thanks, Tom and Charles. I used my Rug Washer yesterday for the first time, and I think it did a pretty good job on the rugs. However, I didn't used the brush ring and it seemed fine. Is it needed for both shampooing and scrubbing/polishing? Also, the RW made a high pitched squeak. Is...

    vacs in films/tv series

Here are a couple photos from the referenced TWILIGHT ZONE episode of reply #4 originally aired on May 11, 1962, "Young Man's Fancy"--Season 3, Episode 34. Without giving the plot away another older vacuum cleaner is also seen later in the episode with which I'm unfamiliar.

    Electrolux Floor Polisher/Rug Washer

Please tell me the purpose of the brush ring for the Electrolux Turbotool Rug Washer. I have the instructions for both the gold & Ivory version and the brown & ivory version but neither of them provides the information. I gather that it is only used when scrubbing and polishing.

    Finally :D

Here is what the original Model 1205/Golden J hose looked like (non-electric). The second version had the same colors and pattern but was electrified and had an ivory pistol grip. Your hose was original to the second version of the Model 1401/Super J.

    The Kirby Classic

Ben, It's interesting, then, that Kirby choee to date it's first Classic units as 1969. Even though the official release wasn't until February 1970, I wonder if some were sold from August 1969 to that time albeit on a smaller level? It does remind me, though of many cornerstones of...

    The Kirby Classic

Belated Happy Birthday, Bill, and congratulations on your self gift of a Kirby Classic/1CR! I don't know much about Kirbys except what I have read online but wanted to let you know that I'm impressed with your machines and knowledge of them. Btw, one of the things I learned is that the...

    Electrolux - Renaissance Colors

Fog was also the main color (along with black) of the Model C141s--Make 2100 (the earlier canisters were Model 2100s). So if I have this correct these are the colors of the following machines: Renaissance/C104A: Gray/Fog trim Renaissance/C104H: Oyster/Bronze trim Epic 8000 SR/C133A: Lt...

    Electrolux - Renaissance Colors

Tom, You sound like a person with integrity. I appreciate that along with all the information you've provided. For Aerus's sake I'd hope that you would get your own franchise someday--or better yet get into corporate, so you could turn things around. If things keep going the way they are...

    Electrolux - Renaissance Colors

After I posted my last comment I thought I should add that I'm sure that there are excellent Aerus franchises out there and independent contractors, like Tom and John (Tig21er), who put people over profit. I don't mean to lump them with the other group. In my personal experience, though, I...

    Electrolux - Renaissance Colors

I agree with you that there is a lack of business acumen at Aerus LLC. That is likely a result of the lack of training and a misdirected mission of profit over people. Beyond that, it seems that Aerus suffers from a lack of integrity. For example, it would seem that Aerus has discarded many...

    new hose for Electrolux XXX

I appreciate all your information, Tom. As you can tell, I'm not as familiar with some of the terms, so your clarifications are helpful. I also figured out that the Sidekicks are used with metal wands, and the Sidekick IIs and IIIs are used with electric wands.
