Question about the electrolux model 2100

The plastic was really good on those Vacs. Best Vacuum built in my mind. They had all the bells and whistles you could really need, like the No-Bag indicator which prevented the machine from running and full bag lite, as well as a Dial on top. Their filtering concept worked well and better than...

Apparently, I get rewarded for bad experiences with a Heritage?

    Collections.. help me understand

I don't collect as such. Have sold them and repaired lots. Sold a couple as a matter of fact in the last couple weeks. Did I make money. Lucky to make $20 a machine depending on time of year and demand. Most people want really clean machines cheap, and this is what I do. Its fun to tinker...

    Electrolux Genesis LX

Which vacuum stands the test of time?

Well for starters I don't spend much more than $15 to $20.00 on a used vacuum from say the thrift shop, garage sale or where ever. Secondly I'am very fluent in taking stuff apart and doing the reapirs and checking over the whole machine. I have an older Panasonic McV5218 Upright or something...

    New Vac: Canister or Upright

I would go with an Upright myself. If you are having rotator cuff problems, why lug a cannister behind you. Good uprights and reasonably priced are Panasonic, Kenmore and some Hoovers. And buy a bagged unit at least with micro filtration, no need for hepa, the micro filters do a very good job...

    Electrolux C141B

Yep 2100, how much they want. Decent buy under $50 if complete with good hose and P/N . Just make sure it does not make a lot of noise during shut down, and take off exhaust filter during the run test, thats if they show up in person.

    Electrolux Thrift Store Find

That era of Lux is probably my all time favorite. The power heads are very effecient, they do an excellent job of cleaning and are very durable. Does that one have the idiot lights on top like the 2100..?

    Vacuum Cleaner Industry

On another note, its nice to know how to fix these older Vacs. I have 2 identical uprite vacuums. The one I use is on its last legs. The other one is totally rebuilt from the bottom up. New brush roll motor all taken apart checked and cleaned. The first one I got for nothing about 12 years ago...

    Vacuum Cleaner Industry

Do you people notice that Vacuum stores are closing up everywhere. The Market is just not there. With the opening of the big box stores in the last 20 years has put a damper on business and of course buying online. About the only thing that keeps most shops going is service calls on built-ins...

    Vacuum graveyard

A lot of collectors can cry all they want over photos like this, But the truth be told 99.8% of the people do not car about vacuums. This is what makes it a unique hobby but also a weird one in the minds of most people.

"I do believe I stated in my above postings that John Gregory would not take payment for the work and parts done to my machine. He is truly a wonderful friend. So your assumption of price total, while probably accurate for any other vac shop, does not hold to my machine. " Ok,,,,,,then why did...
