Kirby Heavy Traffic Shampoo Pre-Treatment Spray?

I tried posting this thread in the Household section. No one has responded, so I'm trying to post it here in the Contemporary section. I'm looking for a low-cost alternative to Kirby's Heavy Traffic Shampoo Pre-Treatment Spray. I know other companies make dry-shampoo products, but I have not...

Back cover screw on Kirby G6

I managed to fix it! Thanks for the help on that one Repairman! I managed to remove the brass fitting and pound it back into place, so I should be good for a while.

Back cover screw on Kirby G6

What's going on with this website? I just tried multiple times to upload pics for this thread and it doesn't seem to be working.

Back cover screw on Kirby G6

The foot pedal on my G6 fell out again and as I was repairing it I noticed that the bottom screw from the back cover wasn't connected to anything. See the attached pics. It looks like maybe the screw sheared off, but you can't see any sort of screw thread or opening of any kind on the backside...

    Public Service announcement!

Regarding that Lindhaus mask . . . I'm looking at this Lindhaus mask and I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere. They also don't have any spec for filtration, especially down to .3 micron, which is the stopping point for n95 respirators. How much is this Lindhaus mask? Or, is it yet...

What will the CCP Virus mean for Kirby?

I was just thinking about how this nationwide lockdown has shuttered certain industries and realized that this must be really tough on Kirby, as well as other vacuum brands sold in-home. It will probably be difficult to restart their sales once everything is lifted since customers will be very...

3D printed Kirby adapter for disposable bags

Lester, read this carefully . . . (1) Don't tell me I didn't talk to Kirby's attorney. Her name is Adrienne Cvetkovic. I'm not going to post her email or phone number. I have her official reply on May 9 of last year to my idea after I sent her pics and a detailed description of what I'm...

3D printed Kirby adapter for disposable bags

You can't patent this . . . The Kirby Tradition used exactly the setup I'm developing. This is prior art that goes back decades. I checked with Kirby's attorney and they had no problem with what I'm building. They just don't want anyone using their logo for any sort of reproduction bag or...

3D printed Kirby adapter for disposable bags

Hey Preston, I'm working on a 3D printed adaptor and bag kit to fit all of the shakeout bag Kirbys. I have already finished the round adaptor that fits the D80 and older. Kelton just received the file for the oval adaptor for the Classic - Tradition. However, we haven't been able to get him...

    Public Service announcement!

Hey Alex Is your concern that people won't be able to fit a homemade mask to their face if they simply cut up a HEPA bag? Or, is it because the HEPA material won't work? The CDC is saying that a N95 mask is NOT required for civilians at the grocery store. It's only required for healthcare...

    Hepa bags. A gimmick?

I'm glad Bill brought this up . . . I was just about to point out exactly what Bill mentioned. All of this speculating on the possible inferiority of "generic" bags means nothing unless you know the baseline particle measurement for your home. If you haven't measured it, then you're just...

    Original Kirby 508-512 Cloth Bag

Hey Les, post your materials! There is no reason to have a private conversation about this. I thought the whole point of this forum was to get help from other enthusiasts, not hide information under the guise that it's somehow proprietary? I am more than happy to post all of the materials in...

    Original Kirby 508-512 Cloth Bag

Blaze: actually, it is a violation . . . • Yes, it is a violation and Kirbys lawyers care. That's why they sent me an official response. • Putting a "kirby-branded" bag on a Hoover is totally unrelated. It doesn't matter what machine you put it on. What matters is that you reproduced...

    Original Kirby 508-512 Cloth Bag

Cease and Desist? What? • This is about trademark, so you need to talk to a TRADEMARK lawyer, not a patent lawyer, although, occasionally you'll find one who does both. • It doesn't matter what some trademark lawyer tells you. What matters is Kirby's tolerance for trademark violations by...

    Original Kirby 508-512 Cloth Bag

Nice trademark violation I can't believe I'm responding to this, but here we go: • I don't care that you sold the most expensive bag in Ebay history. $350 is beyond overpriced. • Embroidering the logo is nice, but it's not technically accurate, if you care about such things (which I don't...

    Original Kirby 508-512 Cloth Bag

Lol? Are you sure about that? • No, I have not made a repro bag. I paid a professional seamstress to make a prototype sample and patterns for me instead. It was not expensive. Later, her company can make 2, or 200 for me. • Yes, she made a perfect one the very first time. That's what...

    Original Kirby 508-512 Cloth Bag

I wouldn't pay over $100 . . . . Based on my cost of building a prototype corduroy bag, anything over $100 for a reproduction bag seems expensive, even if it's made in the U.S. in small quantities. The actual cost of all the bag materials is around $10 to $15, depending on features. The rest...

    Original Kirby 508-512 Cloth Bag

Hey Thomas . . . Are you looking for an original shakeout-style bag because you actually use the machine that way? Or, is this primarily for your collection and doesn't really get much use? I ask because I'm thinking about making some reproduction bags, but for use with a hepa bag system and...
