    Hoover Dial a Magic. Help/info

Dial-A-Matic 1110 Made from 1964-66 Hoover's color name was peacock blue One of my favorite color choices for the DAM Looks to be in excellent shape too, be gentle with the handle mount. That was the Achilles' heel of that series.

A little pet peeve I have...

Cleaning Company owners are cheap They don't want the added expense of disposable bags, nor do they care about what germs may linger in a reusable shakeout bag. Many we get in reek of Carpet Fresh which is even more unpleasant (gives me a headache).

    (1990) Hoover Convertible U4531.

They were making that style of Convertible as late as 1992! The U4597 model RS was the LAST home version of the Convertible. It had the "special" hood no headlight, cloth outer bag and hood was maroon. Ironic how Elites and Convertibles were being manufactured at the same time. I always...

    Oreck XL Restaurateur Upright Vacuum

Back in the day, Oreck would put whatever name you wanted on a vacuum, so long as the order was large enough. When I worked at an Oreck dealership I saw several that were branded for Merry Maids, and one for a charity organization called Ducks Unlimited. There was a 4000 series upright in pink...

    Early Kenmore Oreck competitor?

Regina Brush N Beat They were made in the late '60's/early '70's. But was it designed to be a direct competitor to the Whirlpool/Oreck? Which came first?

Whats so rare about Hoover Innovations?

Just out of curiosity, how many different Innovations were there? I have the maroon soft bag upright like pictured above, and I've also seen a white hard body model. The base reminds me of a blown up Elite, and IIRC the Innovation used two belts.

Electrolux 1205 - access to remove the motor?

Those four sockets are the key. You will need extenders to get in there, and then the motor and the cover slide right out....

Hoover Dial A Matic Handle Brace

Here's an 1149 with the brace. Seems odd so soon after that model was built.

Air-Way upright vacuum cleaner on "The Real McCoys!"

Wonder if that very Air Way still survives today? At least we know it evaded the metal scrap drives of World War II. It could have been a great advertisement for the longevity of an Air-Way. To me, the uprights are so much more interesting than the canisters that followed. Wonder if...

    Oreck Ironman $40

Not really an Oreck.... This was made for Oreck by Douglas, which also made the Powerbrush handvac for Oreck. There were 2 versions - the IM88 which was straight suction and the IM98 which had a powernozzle. Never intended as a replacement for the Buster B. Much better canister than the...

    Miele SES 113 hose

Not just THIS model.... The SES-100 and the SES-105 for the old Miele S200/S300 series were discontinued as well a few years back. Both series were discontinued in 2006 so in Miele's infinite wisdom replacement hoses were offered for long enough. IMHO the plug in cord with those annoying clips...

Annual pilgrimage to North Canton Ohio.

That Richmond is something else. I know you're a Hoover purist but I would've JUMPED at that. Even that Twin-motors AirWay. Those are EXTREMELY rare. I'm sure there's some way to fabricate a new knuckle coupler for the motor driven brush. It was probably some type of pot metal. Personally...

I'd love to see the Dial-A-Matics in all their color combination glory!
