I know that in the late 90s early 00s Kenmore had the E3. Which would later be labeled by Bissell as the ProLite. However it would appear they made another ultra lightweight unit earlier on? It looks like a Power center but slightly slimmer with a MUCH smaller powerhead (photos added for comparison). Almost like that of an Oreck xl. It's definitely a full size upright, notan electric broom. Anyone know about this particular Kenmore. Just found out about it not too long ago.

I’ve had several of those…

It’s a little tiny upright that is basically an Oreck. It’s based on the very rare Kenmore Ultra Vac / Power Mate II platform which never really took off.

Wow! Never actually seen one of these before! Awesome to see an actual photo of one. Can definitely tell it had to be a near competitor to something like Oreck of the time. Would imagine they made these in a few colors. That thing is definitely high on the rare meter. Does it sound like an Oreck too? And that Ultra Vac! Is that a hand vac connected to the bottom? Thanks for sharing these!

The original oreck, the cvr4000, was actually based on the whirlpool cvr, which was a failed vacuum design that was a flop for sears just a few years prior. sears/whirlpool sold the design to david oreck. i doubt sears would make a "competitor" to something they sold off originally as an inferior cleaner.

I was thinking if not an Oreck perhaps a competitor to the at the time highly popular DD Broom Vac as well.

UltraVac

This could be used as in pic 3 above or by removing flexible hose and plugging electric cord in place of hose and then to wall outlet to power the nozzle and dust buster type vac in wands.Must be rare as I have only had 1.
