Disappointing to read.
I've been watching all this from the sidelines and i'm really disappointed with the way things have progressed within the circle of UK collectors. Not just with this but the whole thing in general. People have asked why I don't post very often on here anymore. Quite frankly i'm disgusted with the arrogance, bad attitudes and conflict i've seen in recent months. We're supposed to be all in this together, the whole point of the groups and forums is too support eachother and to help eachother out and to enjoy our slightly strange and wonderful hobby.
I've been involved in collecting for the last decade or so since the Hooverland days, when it used to be fun, when we used to help each other find the rare machines we wanted, when we used to exchange brochures etc etc and just generally have a laugh. Now it just seems to be about complete and utter idiots who ruin it for everyone. Certain people seem to thrive on causing issues purely for a bit of entertainment. It's very very sad indeed.
And as a long-term ebayer myself, I really feel for the person selling these wonderful vacuums. Totally mucked about and what a bad impression it gives of UK collectors. This has made us all look like a bunch of morons.
I really hope that people re-evaluate their behaviour, morals, manners and general attitudes and maybe one day, Vacuumland will be fun again. For now, I think now is a good time for me to stick with my close friends and collectors and give VL a bit of a wide berth. This place is more hassle than it's worth these days...
