So, its my fault that Alex bid £400 for the Turbopower 2? It was I that pushed his finger on the bid now button.
Alex - belt up. You overbid, and that's not my fault.
I warned you what sort of prices these could go for - but in the end - YOU did the bidding.

There were a few surprises in there. I expected the Dysons to do better as we have repeatedly been offered more (more than double in some cases). I said I'd run them to the end and did.
I've learned a few lessons tonight (this was my first auction) such as spacing them out a little as it was a photo finish at the end tonight.

And he's trying to blame me for it. If I win an auction, fair and square, I pay.
I'm not used to getting second chance offers, but when I lost the auction, I bid on something else - and with the 2 items I'm still committed to from CeeJay, I cant afford now to take the second chance offer.

at the end of the day....
....no one died. It is easy to get over excited bidding and I'd have been the same when I was younger. I have bid a fair amount on a couple of them; however, I'm not going to remortgage my house just to buy a few old vacuums.

I was hoping to be out bid but it never happened. I looked at my phone distraught instead of over joyed at what I had just done, I have never done this before. and won't be doing it again.

As I said, I'm not going to try and get you to pay for them if you haven't got the funds. It is a little annoying-especially on 2 items, as I was hoping for a hassle free sale through eBay (and pay the fees for one) but I couldn't sleep thinking you had spent money you didn't have on a cleaner.
However, please don't do it again-we won't be so understanding.

I could of paid it all with my overdraft but I would of been months without money and in debt plus interest...it is not worth it, like I said, apologies to the seller for causing disruption.

Just realise that Ebay is a real auction, with real items, real sellers and if you win, you are expected to buy the item. Also, you cant blame others for your own mistakes - you are 20 now, an adult, and responsible for what you do.

What he said! I'd have loved one of those machines, but £400 is half a months rent, or a very decent car (which I need!)

I accept it was my fault for bidding of course, I see a lot of people shot me down for this on here, I said sorry, people make mistakes and learn from them which I have done, I was going to pay for them but I get paid around £270 a month for a 10 hour a week part time job, and I couldn't afford it plus all the interest on the moths of debt I would of been in. And with no over time, I could not justify it. I know I shouldn't of bid so high but I got carried away and when I realised reality it was to late. I am not a time waster and I am very honest when it comes to buying or selling on eBay.
All I was saying Steve is if you had not spread the word for putting them as auction a lot of this tension and drama may have been avoided.

Lucy said she was disappointed with the Dysons - I wasn't, the DC07 and DC14 are still very common, there are loads for sale on ebay, to the point that ebay is saturated with Dysons.
However, the early models, like the DC04 will do better, and DC01/DC02 doing the best.
Lets see how much the DC01 will make - I think that will go for a small fortune. ALso bear in mind that old Hoovers are very sought after - they have a lot of fans, and some museums may even be interested in some of the older bagged cleaners.

Maybe you'd be better sticking to the second hand £30 max cleaners that are local to you in Manchester - you've done alright with them up to now.

Why would you do that? Any affiliation? It is like saying to everyone who bid and won "I am glad you all got the vacs you wanted, you did pay a lot of money but I don't mind because I cam out of it completely unscathed"
Things do loose there value though. But why wait till now to sell them? Why keep hundreds of pound worth of stock in storage for so long.

Just because their listed doesn't mean you have to buy. And after admitting to pushing the price up to see what happens you have pissed a fair few people off.
Plus what fun is a box you can't ever open anyway? Make it a mission to find one cheaply, at the car boot or Gumtree etc. The hunt is the fun part!
