Hey guys... we haven't had a daily driver thread in a while, and I'm curious as to what everyone else is using and why if you want to tell. I can't seem to change... my two favorites are the Dyson DC14 and the Eureka 1934A. Both modern... I don't use the vintage ones a lot. The Dyson is so powerful and so great at getting around the litter box... it's my only upright with on board tools and my only bagless upright. The 1934A is so light I can whip it out in a hurry and clean up anything, plus the nice throaty sound of the motor and brushroll slapping the carpet... I *almost* feel like a masculine man revving sports car when I use that thing! Today, I diverted and used the Sanitaire SC684 which is a little more powerful than the 1934A. I picked it because I had a lot of corn starch and flour on the floor and didn't want to clog something that used disposable bags (it has the shake out). It was nice to not have to re-plug when going from the living room to the bedroom. Winding the crazy long cord not so nice. It was a nice change, but you can bet my hand will be grasping the handle of one of my true loves again tomorrow.

So, what you using now? I know many of us don't use just one at a time because it's just too hard to choose!

Either my Kirby Classic III or my Kirby Sentria equipped with a customized-to-fit metal fan and Normal/Delicate Switch.

I use a Hoover Commercial Convertible 334 for carpets
and for wood floors I use the Electrolux Super J

my daily drivers are either my Fantom Cyclone xt or my kirby G3 that I just got the other day. however the fantom seems to pick up more dirt than any other vacuum that I use and I dont know why.

For right now, my daily drivers are an Oreck XL-100C or when I need to use tools my Kirby Sentria.

Kirby Heritage 2 with a G4/5 inner bag, and 4 row brush roller, and for above the floor cleaning, or if i dont feel like using the Kirby, i prefer the TriStar CXL with PN, and Hepa filter on the exhaust. I think its a CXL anyway,,it is the all silver and black speckled metal one before they changed to plastic.
Once in awhile i will use the Central Vac (its a 2008 Honeywell, replaced an old 1990 Beam system)with a Turbocat Turbine Brush,,but wrestling 30 ft. of hose around doorways, corners, ect. is a pain. The Turbocat is OK, on low pile carpets, but not as agressive as i would like on thicker plie,,not near as effective as the Kirby.
I do like the vac pan hooked up to the Central Vac for sweeping up in the kitchen and garage tho,,very handy. The Central Vac is excellent for cleaning out the car!

heritage 1hd downstairs, royal 880 upstairs, lux tan g for tools, royal prince hand vac for stairs/sofa etc.

Kirby....

my daily driver is my 16 year old Kirby g4, i am currently in the process of cosmetically restoring it, but in the 6 years i have owned it it has done absolute wonders for each home we move into, one thing i love is the amount of attachments that comes with it, i can tackle any and every job with my Kirby. another reason i like it so much is because[this is just my opinion] it out performs every other vacuum out there when compared to durability suction and versatility. and when you put a pet hair brush on it then it will eat anything and everything in it's path.

daily...

I alternate between my Kirby Legend II or Kirby g5 (both with the cloth HEPA bags.) Once in a while I will get out my factory rebuilt Dual Sanitronic 80 and give it a whirl just to keep it in smooth running condition. I love the way the Legend II looks and sounds the best, but I also love the way the G5 looks and grooms the carpet. I also love the suction of the G5 in attachment mode. The DS80 was the very first Kirby I ever remember seeing as a child and was my grandmothers that I had rebuilt at the factory a couple of years ago. It gets minimal use.

Nothing like using my...

Kirby G4 with HEPA bags!!!
It just seems to clean the berber carpet so well!!!

I recently bought a Hoover WindTunnel 2 bagged at Costco that I love.

Not the original bagged WindTunnel from 97 that I was one of the first to have. This is the newer version that originally had the bagless version with the supposed self cleaning, continually rotating filter that I also had to be one of the first to have. And one of the first to get rid of.

But the bagged version of this is great as a daily driver. A little loud and there are more convenient cleaners, but as to carpet, floor and above floor cleaning, this is a terrific day to day cleaner.
