It is the same size as the one for my Ranger, but the slots on the end caps stick out too much for it to fit the Ranger, so what model of HOOVER is it for ?

And I know it is definitely a HOOVER brush roll as the packet said "GENUINE HOOVER" all over it.

Here are a few pictures.

I think I know what that is from if I am not mistaken it is from the Hoover power nozzel they used in the FairFax and many different central vacs when I get home I will post pictures of my FairFax so ya that's where I think it came from thanks. Zach

Yes I thought it was a Convertible (Senior) brush roll as it is exactly the same as a Senior brush roll with the only difference being the slots at the ends stick out further than the Senior brush roll.

Benny - As soon as I saw you'd replied I knew I'd have the answer!

Thank you yet again for being extremely helpful :)

If you want to use it, just take off the end caps and fit ones from one of your other brushrolls, should work fine...

Your pictures of the end caps are blurry, but I would guess that it is from a Canadian or American Hoover. It might even be from a different British Hoover.

I thought that David, but while one end cap comes off, the other is being obstinate, as with my current Ranger's brush roll.

I assumed one of them wasn't designed to come off.

They do come off, you just have to grab one end of the axle with something like vice-grips (preferably with some card between the axle thread and the grip's teeth to prevent them chewing up the thread), then the other cap will come off, my four Juniors and one Senior had that issue with their brushrolls, it's just a case of the one end not being as tight as the other, and the weaker one unscrewing first... :)

Well some time in the future I'll swap the brush rolls over then!

Although the brush roll in my Ranger is the original one from 1977 and is quite rusty, the brushes are almost brand new, so I'm in no rush.

I'll do it fairly soon though.
