Hello, everyone,

Does anyone have a spare hose seal for a Electrolux 345 cylinder vacuum cleaner they don't need, or one that is cheap? The reason being, I managed to buy a 345 in great condition for a very cheap price. The only thing wrong with it, is a perished seal. A new seal is very hard to find and the very few for sale online are dearer than what I paid for the machine.

I would much appreciate it if you could help out.

Francis

Is the rubber piece removable? You might see if there is someone local that can replicate rubber parts and can make a new one based on the old one. Not sure of the cost.

I found a place that might, but no idea, as I live in USA.

Restoring vacuums though is never economical and it's not a profit oriented hobby. It's a labor of love and about saving vacuums. It's because so many people throw them out and throw out the spare parts, there's none left now, so the price goes up for the parts that are left.

I have a Miele Black Diamond that I paid $15 for, and had to buy and import the original hose from Germany at a cost of $60, same with the tools. I also have a Kirby I got for free out of a vacuum store dumpster that I've put over $120 into restoring it and replacing missing parts.

Hello, huskyvacs,

Thank you for replying. Yes, the part is removable. It is amazing that you are from America and finding this great company, which I have never heard of and it being situated in my home city. That was very helpful of you. This company looks like it could make any part for you, but it may be a little expensive. I'll give them a try.

I like your story about your Miele Black Diamond. Sometimes the cost means nothing if you really like something that much.

Thanks again.
