Good Afternoon, My mother is now in a nursing home. While cleaning out the house I found in the attic a Electrolux af complete with it's power nozzle that was purchased in December 1958. I had to replace the cord winder reel cord, because of age and being stored in the attic for more than forty years. The problem that I have is the long cord that is wired into the power nozzle and goes through the wand and then attaches to the hose by three plastic clips and then plugs into the top of the vacuum is also in need of replacement because of age and storage. Is there anyone that might have one of these long power nozzle cords that they would be willing to sell? The power nozzle is model pn-1 As far as payment for this cord, I would pay in advance all costs including shipping. Thanks for any help that you can give me. You may contact me by phone 607-426-9407 Thanks!!! Dave

AF with PN1-- This sounds like the very first PN1 with the rare cord that I have never found. I do have PN1s in my attic but cords stop at hose handle. I may have cords from hose handle to vac but will not be in that area anytime soon. This would be a great piece of your family and Electrolux history to restore.(Did not get call or message.) Jimmy, Thanks for your reply. The phone rang four times and then went to message. I have a vacuum store and have the replacement hose cords but looking for the long cord that ran from the power nozzle to the vacuum. The AF was put in the attic when my parents purchased the Olympia with power nozzle and the three brush shampooer / polisher. I don't know why they bought the new Electrolux, the model AF is a much better machine. Also found in an upstairs closet, the B-7 that matches the AF but it is missing the wax dispenser and hose that slides into the bracket on the front side of the handle. I buy most of my Electrolux parts from Aerus but these two items have been long discontinued. The vacuum and polisher look like new after receiving two coats of wax. I did have to replace the cord reel cord because it had become brittle and crumbled from age. I replaced the cord with a vintage off white cord from a vintage Electrolux reusing the plug & plug protector from the old AF cord. It looks the same as the origional that came with the vacuum new. Before running the vacuum I disassembled the vacuum motor and cleaned the fans and put new grease in the bearings, the carbon brushes show no ware. The vacuum now runs very quiet with the nice Electrolux purr. If you happen to find the long cord and waxing dispenser with hose, Please keep me in mind. Again Thanks!!! Dave

Dave, I would suggest using a aftermarket Rainbow hose cord, and replacing the wand cord with a standard powerhead cord. Yes, it would be aftermarket and non original in appearance, since the cords would be black, but bear in mind that if you DO find the original long hose & wand cord it will have signifigant wear and probably won't last long. This way, you can reuse the original wand and get your vacuum working again.

Thanks!! What I did was take a old Electrolux model L cord that was gray in color, wired it to the power nozzle and ran the cord through the plastic power nozzle wand and using the three plastic clips attached the cord to the hose. I had a old replacement power nozzle plug that was sold in the 60s and put that plug on the cord after cutting the cord to the proper length. It looks origional with the exception of the replacement Electrolux plug. Electrolux sold these replacement plugs so that you did not have to replace the cord if the plug went bad. I'm just hoping to someday find the origional power nozzle cord from 1958 when the vacuum was manufactured. Again Thanks!!! Dave
