Not vintage but kinda...

I'm picking up a new pair of BOSE 901s from the BOSE store today...
Still available and made-to-order. Took about a month to get them.
I'm revamping the hifi in the living room right now. It's a bit of a mess right now. My current speakers were goners, hence the replacements.

I am looking for a Scott's tube amplifier and FM tuner from the early 60's. if anyone knows of one in working condition, please let me know. Thanks

I used to have a Scott LK-48 inteergrated amp-got lost in a flood-one of the best amps I had.I too, would love to have another-but if you find one in even usable shape---the price is staggering-bought mine for $50 about 25 yrs ago!Prices are about 10 times that today for a similar Scott amp!

Bush console [radiogram]

hi again the Bush in the picture above was an early atempt at stereo it has two ten inch speakers and two three inch tweeters in the bottom the sound is exelent but there is virtualy no separation because the speakers are two close together as for the Hacker no the speakers are not detachable but what a great idea

With both the Hacker and Bush Hi-fi sets you would have to sit close and on the floor for the best sound.Include floor pillows for these!
Yes,wish I had the Scott LK amp I used to have-but when I see prices on ones sold today-too rich for my blood, too. The one I used to have bought it from a trade in pile at McGuires-a Hi Fi dealer in wash DC area-Remember like vacuum cleaners-Hi Fi dealers took trade ins of old equipment.Often it was sold at BARGAIN prices! The Scott amp was only $50!!This was like 1971 or so.All I had to do with that unit was replace some tubes and rebias it.Worked great!
I am trying to think of the brands-there were a few Hi-Fi consoles whose speakers could be separated from the main unit that contained the TT,amp, tuner.Magnavox had some.
Oh yes another geat thing about the early Scott tubed amps was the quality of their output transformers-MASSIVE-so my 24W per channel LK48 had better bass response then other similar power amps.

If the scott is out of your league, there are some really nice marantz and fisher tube amps on ebay with a decent price. Or go with a TOL solid state amplifier adcom, crown, luxman, marantz, rotel, McIntosh etc... would be good and if looking for a decent price im sure you could find one
