If thats the best vacuum you used, then I feel sorry for your carpets, you deserve a Dyson, I recommend a Dyson DC04 (my fav!), DC07 or DC14, better to get one without a clutch, they have excellent suction, only maintenance required is a filter wash every 6 months, and you will regret hating Dyson.

I feel sorry for your carpets if you're running a Dyson upright over them continuously. Spare a thought for the patent that allows you to have suction all of the time and then ask yourself in a few years time why your carpet suddenly starts to look threadbare.

So if the vax power 3 is the best vacuum you've ever used, then what on earth do you think of your Kirby? To be honest apart from the weight kirbys are incredible machines, if a little bulky.

my dad cousin was moving house to a bungalo he had a legend 2 and gsix he had a legend 2 upstairs so he gave me the legend 2 and still has is g6
