Vacuum Ghost Stories

Wasn't quite sure where to put this... however I was curious if any of those that believe in ghosts and spirits have had any experiences with such entities involving one or several of their vacuums? Thought this might be a very interesting one to discuss, so please, tell any stories you may have, I am very curious to see if anyone has had such experiences.

Not a ghost story but a dream a friend of mine had about my vacuums-his dream involved my vacuums attacking me!!!He called in a panic-since he lived close to me at that time-had him come over to see I was fine--and my vacuums UNPLUGGED!!!He went back home no longer worried.

I don't have any ghost stories involving a vacuum either but I do HVAC which requires A LOT of time up in attics. Normally there's nothing stored up in there in the newer homes (because of the impracticality that trusses create for usable storage) but in older houses, things are almost always up there and sometimes things get weird. I remember going up into the attic of one really old house which was getting new central heat/air installed for the first time as it originally had steam radiators and a boiler. It was a big old house, and the attic was equally massive. I kept hearing a musical type noise up there. It was intermittent and, as somebody who doesn't believe in ghosts, that may have changed that day. It turned out that yes, there was a really old crank type record player (I think?) against a large gable vent (just a vent, no fan) and the wind would spin the record a little.

I will say that a Bison vacuum looks a little creepy. If I saw one in a dark attic before ever seeing one somewhere else, I'd have to say "what the heck is THAT thing?". The rear of a Royal motor shell kind of looks like a weird alien-esque metallic skull. And you ought to see some of the hugely oversized whole-house fans that some older houses have. They're much, MUCH bigger than the flimsy modern aluminum ones you'd find at Home Depot and look like they'd mangle somebody in an instant. I remember seeing one that was so big that 1) they must have built the house around that fan, 2) I was surprised that it didn't literally blow the roof off from its massive airflow (there was a huge lack of venting in that attic IIRC, just some soffit venting and a small gable vent at each end) and 3) we just left the unit up there and sealed up the cutout where the shutters were since the shroud box for this thing would require the ceiling joists to be cut just to bring it out of the attic -- not worth the risk or cost.

I felt like I'd seen a ghost when I came across my parents' Electrolux 1205 in their attic when we were cleaning out their house a few years ago. I thought they'd gotten rid of it when they moved some twenty years earlier. Although two decades of dust and grime and mouse droppings made it look like something from the dead when I first saw it, I'm happy to report the machine is now firmly back among the living and working better than ever, now that it has shed its leaky, non-electrified hose in favor of an electrified vinyl one and a shiny PN2 power nozzle, which it did not originally have.

One stormy autumn night in 2005 I was awaken to the noise of a vacuum . The scary part was it was 3:17am and I was the only one home. As I approached the living room from the back rooms I heard it get louder and louder and no mistake, my vacuum was operating all by itself. Luckily it was just a Roomba vac that somehow started on its own.

Ghostly vacuum cleaner

Not sure I believe in any ghost - experience would tell me such things are figments of an overactive imagination, or just make for spooky stories.

But Kirby vacuums always scared me as a kid - that big chrome motor and bag. If any vacuum was haunted, I could see a Kirby being so, suddenly starting up with a roar, inflating that huge bag and a headlight shining in the dark.

Now I like Kirbys, but as a kid I wouldn't have touched one - let alone use one, especially the old ones I saw around. My neighbor's newer at the time G3 didn't scare me, but the old black and chrome ones sure did.

With all the old fans and vacuums I collect, sometimes I wonder who owned them or used them though. Or if they might do odd things, but again think it's all in the imagination. Haven't noticed anything odd with any of them.

I don't know about vacuums coming to life ala Christine the Stephen King movie.
I have felt spirits attached to vacuums. I bought a bunch of Kirby vacuums and parts for cheap and quickly made money back. I sifted through it and found a 508 that was the gem to this hoarder 80 year old sir that passed on. I also tried to ressurect his eurekas. They were past the point of saving and I tried.
But the 508 didn't have cord or bag. It had everything else. This is probably the rarest kirbys' as it has same design as 505 but red and only made 1 year. I could feel this was his most valuable vacuum. He liked d50s he had like 4 motors. I brought them back and sold them all. $25-$35 a piece. I still have the 508 and along with my 505 all original are not necessarily favorite but sentimental value.
I feel like he wanted someone to find the vacuum.that would know and appreciate it.
The 1920s royal model 88 from fellow vacuum lander nemo. I also believe my 1949 royal whose family sold it after they passed away.
It's like you can feel it was special to them. They spent alot of money on quality vacuums. I feel there are spirits attached happy someone like me has came across it and can appreciate it.
The royal family mother died and selling it. I went up a few hours after my mother passed this last year and bought it.
Just weird.
Maybe the good sir who had 508 is reason I have so freaking many vacuums. Idk I also got a Kirby classic and it was persons in laws. I just got laid off and no money. He said you pick it up you can have it. It has every single attachments in box in pristine condition. The field could screw stripped out. I'm taking out coil put new one in. Trying to cut screw right above carbon brush housing is difficult to reach. I will get it and keep alive the Kirby they bought,serviced and used all.the way to their passing. I will keep it alive.
Idk Just some stories behind the vacuums.

I can still occasionally and very faintly hear my old Custom Convertible from my grandma and late grandpa that was sadly tossed by a repairman (another story). I wonder if that means that there's another one out there waiting to go to a new home.
