Thank you, Karl........

Never knew that the city buses I rode as a kid were called "fish-bowl" buses!

So you are into buses to, huh? I guess we could call a lot of the new transparent, bagless vacs, "fish-bowl" vacs too!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great day!

B :)

Indeed I am. And for that matter, other types of vintage transit equipment (trains, subway cars, etc.) My father was a bus driver for 25 years, and he was too. He loved the fishbowls, enough so he eventually bought one. We lost it through a series of unfortunate events after he passed away, but I will always have a soft spot for the vehicle. It pained me to watch Red Green cut one up on his show. Hope you have a great day as well!

Karl....since you live in Queen's New York.......

I am guessing that you may also be a collector of memorabilia from the two New York World's Fairs at Flushing Meadows! That's another one of my hobbies - world expositions.

The transportation exhibits and pavilions in both 1939-40 and 1964-1965 were amazing! I was born in 1959 and remember well my visits as a five year old to the NYWF in 1964 and 1965. The AMF monorail was so cool! And who could forget GM's Futurama Pavilion.

And I will never forget seeing those General Electric vacuums on stage at Disney's GE "Progressland" Pavilion.

But we better leave all that for another message board!

Hehe, I agree, but yes, I do have a small collection of World's Fair Memorabilia. My most prized possession is the Remington Shaver from the 1939 World's Fair. I also have a teapot illustrating the Trylon and Perisphere. It's nice to know at least the G.E Carousel of Progress is still alive and well at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. About the only reminder left at Flushing Meadows Park is the Unisphere. My father attended Expo '67 in Canada and brought back some wonderful snapshots.

Trident

I wish you could find those vacs in the U.S. Years ago, in an old vccc newsletter there were pictures of experimental Electroluxes,at the Old Greenwich factory,if you have ever seen these pictures, you know where this design came from, the Trident design is almost identical with several of the experimental E Luxes,I will try to hunt up my old newsletters and see if I cant get some pictures on.

Lux

Nice Lux there boys and even better seeing it work!!! it was my understanding that this was more of a semi-commercial vac in UK or certainly promoted for large houses, i know they did a bigger commercial model, but I remember seeing this size a lot in librarys, shops etc as well!!! for the lower wattage it certainly provides a good suction and soooo quiet, just that Lux hum!!!

Was this a later model because I remember seeing a couple with the Flip-Over white floor tool as of the Z100??

Nowthen Simon & Walter, you two are just a teasing us a lot!!!....Lol fab brochure - we need to see it all - please drop me a mail and i`ll send address, post us a scan and I`ll put it onto a file to see!!! My mums friend had this blue version and it was bought from Trident near us the independant shop, its my understanding that they where introduced to the independant stores like Trident, Wigfalls as was, small independants (think Euronics chain) and where also sold door to door!!! I remember Aunty Joan showing us how good it was and showing us it even had the paper bags!!!

speechless!

Mike i am speechless... this was launched in the 60s right? the actual main case is exactly the same shape as the z30/55/62/65/challenge/z80 etc isnt it? the filter cover bag and cap and clips are the same as z90 and obviously as you say,Mike thestandard Lux cord connection. It seems to me the only feature thats unique to this Trident is the handle... unless you know of any other Lux cylinder that has it?
