Wow - now thats quite a machine - cant wait to see the parts. The only Trident listed in the literature I have is the U136 from 1965 (in blue and light grey) so this must be newer than that one.
yes Doug i saw that one listed i think the shape was the same as this one but the colour scheme obviously in blue and grey. Maybe it was a lower wattage and didnt have a bag full whistle option

The yellow Trident is one of the nicest looking vacuums I've seen in some time...absolutely beautiful color. The hose on the blue Trident is equally nice. It's great to see these.
Thats nice, I love those machines i am looking for a blue volta. I never heard about the brand trident. I do own a orange volta. Great find was trident special made for uk?
that Trident u136 1965 model is listed in that literature you have added to the lux cylinder thread for James right? it came in blue.. but this yellow one is the follow up yes? but it is not listed there it appears to havr a slightly different handle and bag cover clip i think

Lux Trident U136 Blue...now this is different again, like Simon says with different bag cover hinge....unless its a misprint on the literature, but everything else is right!!!
Its the one I remember too, interesting though from the date that it displays the later type of filter and mount used on the 80 (1967), where the contempory 65 was using the old style filter from 30/65/62

strange the z30 and 55 are missing from the listings as popular as they were, and the 62 featured here has a low hose port on the bag cover, it says it it has the paper bag system ... didnt 62 have the central hose port because of the paper bag, or did someone say that the first paper bag didnt need the central one? and did the change over happen during the 62s production? or did the 62 actually come out with the paper bag from the word go?
The 30/55 is only missing here, Doug loaded the full Lux model listing on another thread, but here is the page with the 30/55 again.
Whilst I agree that the 55 was popular (and maybe more so than the 62) I have only ever seen one Lux 30, and that is Mike's
Do you know I never noticed it, but the hose connection on the 62 is (apparently) higher than on the 55 looking at the manual, will have to check it out on the actual machines. My 62 manual shows the use of paper bags.
Al, its amazing how we miss the obvious, I hadnt realised about the port holes until you mentioned it, managed to get a few together for a group shot...also the wheels on the crossbar on the Lux Z62...
