Thank you for providing the links Josh, mate :)
And Supersweeper, the Dyson survived vacuuming petrol on fire TWICE, then got set on fire and even that took a while to destroy the Dyson. It's not cheap plastic, It's ABS Plastic, yes the same platic used in riot shields. Dyson is wuality vacuum cleaner

Parwaz, my question is can you still vacuum with that Dyson? No, you cannot. both the bin and brush have melted off. Of course the motor will work, it's metal. metal does not burn. The Dyson was trashed in the fire, it can no longer perform it's job, and it could barely perform the job when it wasn't on fire.

I hope the swat team isn't using Dyson plastic, we could get over-thrown by Canada in a wink. You saw the Royal being set on fire, and guess what vacuum is still cleaning carpets? one new bag later, and it's the royal! You would have to buy a new everything (Excluding the motor) to use that Dyson, but why would you waste money?
I hope one day you Dyson fans will see the light.

Actually, no because the brush and bin were still perfectly fine after being used in the fire TWICE. The vacuum got destroyed when it was SET on fire, not been used to. The Dyson can cope with it actually, I am worried about metal being dented though, from a bump against furniture. My Dysons just get a scratch from the corner of my marble fireplace surrounding, would a metal one get scratched? No. It will get dented

To be honest I don't really care for metal vacuuns they are big and expensive and fiddly and annoying to use I rather take Dyson and the suction is not very good Who wants to pay a thousand pounds for a vacuum cleaner and I Dysons expensive but that's just out rages Price if you like using metal vasof that's fine but I do like my Dyson. Just to say my friend is buying a Dyson and she is trying to pick between DC 41 and dc40 and the DC39 I think it's more likely she's going to get the DC 41 as she loved mine and her last Dyson lasted 14 years and still going strong A whole reason she's getting a Dyson because She is very heavy-handed with a vacuum cleaners and she recently bought a age and it was terrible is just terrible she broke so many parts in one day luckily she was able to return but I gave my Dyson to for a week so she could see what it was like she loved it to bits and it was still in perfect condition not even a scratch

Oh dear we're going to launch World-War IV on vacuumland over this.

Metal does not dent when rammed into furniture. It wouldn't dent unless you dropped it off a moving train. Giving somebody a Dyson for a week and saying it had no scratches is madness. Look at the older vacuums pushing 40,50 years of service without a failure. Plastic can not survive a fire, it's common sense. Do I need to go into my backyard and set a Dyson on fire? I don't see how else you can understand this.if you rammed a Kirby into the fireplace at 75 miles an hour, it could get dented. Do people ram Kirbys into fireplaces at such speeds? No, they do not.I don't know where you kids are hearing metal vacuums cost $1,000, you have obviously never been to a garage sale. I've gotten numerous and complete Kirbys for under $50. Compare that to you $500 junk and tell me what costs more.

The Dyson DC41 is crap! It is made of creaky plastic and It has a loosely fitted handle that twists side to side. After using a quality metal vacuum like a Kirby, the DC41 feels like a toy in my hands and it seems it would be more suited for my 10 year old nephew.

We'll let the adults use the Kirby's and Royal's and the kids can use the Dyson's.

LOL Spytks, welcome aboard Team Kirby!

I wouldn't want kids to play with Dysons, they might hurt themselves on broken plastic!

Dyson...now where have I heard that before..oh yeah, isn't that's what Saturns were made of??? No wonder they went under.OOOOOPPSS I didn't say that..veg

I had vue in 2001 but had a head on crash (wasn't my fault the ass was drunk & left his side of the road & hit me) the engine was inside the SUV now it cost me $18,995 but had $32,000 in damage...go figure oh & I walked away from when they said I should have been dead!

My mate has a DC33 animal and he owned it from new, and he tries not to ram it against furniture, and guess what? there's only like 3 scratches after nearly 2 years of use.
Type in DC33 Animal for sale on youtube and you will see.

I will say I like the Dysons when they first came out in the UK upright & cylinder, they looked nicer & from my point of view (just mine) they cleaned better & I am unanimous in that...LOL

Indeed they did clean well, especially the Early DC07's and DC04's with seals in the soleplates and no clutch, just a round brush and belt

But you said "Giving somebody a Dyson for a week and saying it had no scratches is madness." And like I said, my mate still used his DC33 Animal daily with harly any scratches at all, just like 2 or 3
