Hi I'm working on a dyson dc25 and am wondering if there's supposed to be a pedal just to release the handle in order for it to lock. In diagnosis I never found s pedal and the customer said the handle won't stay up.
Thanks for clearing that up.

It has a locking mechanism within the hinge assembly along the wheel that will raise and lower along the ball. It's a big red lever that is supposed to lock in place. You push on it to lower the vacuum for cleaning. The hinge spring part likes to wear out and causes the mechanism to fail. Mine is like this too.

Beko1987 has made a video where he fixes the part.

What plastic is the back wheel frame made of? A piece broke off which might be why it didn't come into the shop with the red pedal. It that I have a 3d pen and might be able to fix that spot but I understand certain plastics don't mix with one another.
Thanks for everything so far.

I do not have a DC25 but I have a DC24. The lower axle that the wheels are on says "PP"and a recycling symbol. The red handle where you put your foot on, I cannot tell what that says, it's obscured. The upper part of the hinged area immediately above the red handle that is grey and also looks like what the black piece with the metal spring is mounted to, says it is ABS.
