The Dyson dc41 and dc39 are much better compare to the dc25 the dc25 is not that bad of a vacuum cleaner

the dc41 Cyclone technology is far far better.2012 model I had for a year and used every single day and I never clean the filter the filter stayed so clean.people complain that the handle twists that only happens if you take off the wand the dc41 probably one of the best Dysons I've ever seen it much more manoeuvrable

Lol you just copied and pasted what I typed, but DC25 has stiffer bristles than the DC41. The DC41 has the same stiffness bristles as a Helix DC33 brushbar. The DC25 grooms better, it has a better brushbar. The suction is powerful too, and I repeat, there is less things to go wrong with the DC25 than most of the newer current 2012-2014 Dysons

PS The handle was stiff a bit flexible even when the wand was in place with the wand cap on. I think it was either that, or the body flexing, because there is a gap in the main body so when you take the cyclone assembly off, the hose can be seen. DC25 doesn't have this, The body does not flex, it is much stronger. If I could choose between the DC41 or DC25, It would be the DC25 because of what it is, not the value. It's just a better machine

I'm sorry but the DC41is a overall better machine is Got stiffer bristles better cyclone technology and better to stearate the DC 41 is so much better but don't forget I've had both I would take a DC 41 any day over a dc25 any day

I tried/had both. DC41 does NOT have stiffer bristles, ask anyone, the DC25 has stiffer and thicker bristles.

I'm going to curreys tomorrow so I'm gonna have a look and the DC41 HAS GOT STIFF bristles the DC41 has got nice long bristles the DC 25 Has got short stubby little things . So you went out and bought DC 41. So if you haven't why you said you have had both ???

I tried the DC41 for a week in my own home, Had the DC25 for a year. The DC25 bristles are stiff, long and fat. DC41 has the same bristles as a DC33. DC25 grooms better. It's also a better machine, even though the suction is less (only 35 AW less) but it's not that less!

Put it this way. What is more stronger and stubborn, a thick stick or a twig? The DC41 bristles represents the twig, and the DC25 bristles represents the thick stick. The DC25 bristles are less likely to get worn out and are more stronger due to being thick and the DC41 bristles will be more flexible, so it will agitate the carpet less

Was that DC 41 the one you fix for your friend because obviously that one was faulty had something wrong with it . Am sorry but the DC 25 bristles are not long .might be stiff but there not long to the DC41 bristles are nowhere near the DC 33 I've had all of them had a DC 25 two years and DC41for one year and the dc33 for 12 months and dc24 Four months. And got rid of all of them and got the DC 41 just cleaned so much better. By the way I have had loads if the DC 25 in for repair so many problems

DC 41 DC25 bristles are made from the same material that they are the same stiffness is just the 41 as long the bristles and more of them are not send the DC 25 is bad I'm just saying the DC 41 is a little bit better. I hope we can still be friends :)

That's great let's just agree that they clean about the same the DC 41 does have better Cyclone technology

Well obviously Dyson didn't feel the brushbar was aggressive enough on their DC41 which is why they then brought out the DC65 in the US, Canada and Australia etc.

I too prefer a DC25 over a DC41 any day. The DC25 has proven to be very popular which is why they still sell it today.

Do not like the flimsy thin plasticky build quality on any of the DC40s DC41's or DC50's. I feel the DC25 is better in this category. I'm glad the DC25 is still available, though I don't need one. Whatever your preference, just enjoy it. We all like a particular machine or design.

Thanks for all the replies. I'd rather the DC25 to be honest because it has the metal extension wand & it is also cheaper than the newer models.

I found his in B&M bargains, the DC25i

That's a great looking offer hi-lowswitch98!

I too like the aluminium wand on the DC25, really not a fan of the plastic ones on the latest machines. I keep on about it I know, but they feel so cheap and tacky, but I suppose it's the way things are going.

I hope you enjoy many years use from the DC25. I got the DC24 because of its small size. It worked well in a 3 bedroomed family home with 3 adjust and 1 young teenager.

I now live in a flat share and vacuum my large bedroom, the hallway, bathroom, kitchen and living room and is fine. The DC25 would have been the choice for me if the DC24 wasn't available at the time.

It would just be nice to try a different Dyson really, & it would be my first brand new one, but thanks anyway, I hope to get years of use out of the DC25.
