I also have the earlier Model F, the matching B7 polisher-scrubber, a "Casual Sweeper" (made for Electrolux by Bissell) and a whole bunch of other stuff, but I didn't bring all that out.

<span data-offset-key="80fua-0-0"><span data-text="true">I have a great fondness for the Model F, having seen many of them when I was a child. I clearly remember the first time I saw one with a power nozzle, even though I couldn't have been more than three years old. Daddy was visiting some friends and I had come along (probably to get me out of Mama's hair). When we went into the living room I saw a white and gray Electrolux that had a HUUUUUUGE nozzle on it -- the power nozzle, Electrolux's first. I looked for one for many years and finally found one a few years ago.</span></span>

I'm actually not sure who came out with it first, it was a toss up between Lewyt, Electrolux and Kenmore. I think Lewyt may have actually been the first one with Kenmore and Electrolux right on their heals. Air-way, Compact tristar and G.E. would also follow soon after with power nozzle canisters as well. You would think Hoover and Eureka, two of the biggest names in vacuums would have also gotten on the power nozzle canister train, but they didn't until the 1970's, Eureka in 1972 and Hoover in 1974.

Do you know if the R ever had this nozzle or did it go straight to the white and turq?

Well yes, but Hoover and Eureka also always offered uprights, so having a powernozzle on their canisters wasn't a top priority. Eureka DID have a Vibra-beat tool on their canisters in the '60's that made a racket but did aid in cleaning carpets. I never knew the model F was offered with a powernozzle. I always thought it came out with the G. I should look at my F and see if it has the electric port.

Okay, what BEAUTIFUL machines!!!! I havenever seen a power nozzle cover that color. WOW! I am assuming this was the original power nozzle by Electrolux? I love the earlier model F! I especially love the cord winder! Class act machine! Many I have seen and noticed don't have the power port on them for power nozzles. Thanks so much for sharing!

That is, indeed, a handsome ensemble, and I enjoyed your anecdote to boot. I had to do a double-take of the photo, because at first look the back end looks like it's one solid piece due to the wand's placement; so I read your comment with anticipation thinking I was going to learn about a prototype that didn't make it to production!
