I picked this powerforce compact up recently. It is overall a good vacuum, but one thing I noticed that is different from the Easy Vac predecessor was that it no longer has a third wheel! It is just a bar now! It makes it impossible to push on medium to high carpet and it scratches the floors. From what I can see, it is on the redesigned model as well. Will the third wheel off an easy vac or similar machine work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure if they would work well on thick carpet due to size, but if i find one somewhat on the cheap i will try it out. It does look nicer than the previous models though.

For $10 more...

One could purchase a Powerforce bagged. Judging by my observations in the vacuum aisle of Walmart, the PowerForce bagged (or bagless) seems to be better-built than their "compact" offerings, though Bissell's older PowerForce models seemed to be of even better quality. I had a 12 amp PowerForce bagged upright until I bought a Sanitaire SC886. The "compact" one isn't that much smaller from the full-size models, either.

My mother bought one of those Powerforce Compacts like in the second post above. She opened the box and then realized it was too small to vacuum a whole house of carpet. She said it was a piece of crap, but I thought it was rather cute.

That said I have heard really good things about the bagged Powerforces. And I used one of the older purple BOL bagless models. I was expecting it to be junk, but it actually worked quite well. Lightweight, not too loud and groomed the carpet well. The only dislikes I had was the cord was rather short and the bagless would be a mess to keep clean with the filter setup. But for a machine that probably cost $50 or $60 it wasn't that bad.

I'd even get one of the bagged models but I have no need for one since I have plenty of nicer machines to use. If I needed a decent and cheap vacuum I'd get one of them though.

Yeah,

But this was actually given to me by one of my moms coworkers as she no longer needed it. I have heard good things about the redesigned PF bagged, as I have found every variation of PF helix in the trash and none of the PF bagged lol. The original bagless model was indeed fantastic. I had the original one was my upstairs vac and a beat up 10 amp version as my basement/garage vac. I vacuumed the garage with it after we mowed. It still had good suction! It was a pain to empty though lol.
