Hi guys, very long time no see! think my last post was 6 or 7 years ago?
Becoming self employed in property development has left little time for my former hobbies such as vacuum collecting, but its something I'm getting back into. I've had my trusty Sebo E3 Premium for a couple of years now after replacing a Felix from 2012 which was then donated to a friend in need of a vacuum. The E3 is basically perfect in every way in my eyes.
I'm really not one for cordless vacuums, thinking that the battery technology, while its improved a lot in recent years, still has some way to go before they can replace a good corded vacuum completely.
The Lupe obviously focuses on quality, longevity and repairability which is severely lacking in many tech and home appliance products these days, so it already has a charm unto itself.
Anyway, I received my Lupe only this morning. Here are a link to the photos (rather than me closing up the thread, so let me know if this worked or not)
To be frank, my carpet it very unforgiving. Its very dense and classed as medium to high piled. Only the Sebo's E3 powerhead can properly clean and groom it. The Lupe, on its default medium power setting does NOT groom it like the Sebo does. I think a major reason is the head which keeps lifting up as I push it along, which feels like its the hose at the head not lose enough and allowing the powerhead to conform to the surface its on.
Another reason could be to do with the counter-rotating brush bar, meaning you kind of have to vacuum in the opposite direction to what you're used to.
On high-power, the suction is fantastic and it really does groom the carpets, with incredible agitation which shakes the particle before they are vacuumed, however this isn't plausible to vacuum homes with wall to wall carpets like mine, which are again becoming more popular these days. Not sure what the time rating on high-power is, but it cant be anymore than 15 minutes.
The brusher is decently stiff, kind of the same feeling as a Dyson V11 nylon brush-bar.
Hard-floor cleaning seems to be faultless, and the overall build quality is something to be admired. They are made in China, but Lupe make a point of saying they are built in a Swiss owned factory "Ryder."
Everything fits together beautifully and the attachment set is first-class, with both brushes incredibly soft. Nothing feel loose, and the wand part of the handle is aluminium.
Its quieter on medium power than I thought, although high power it has a high-pitched scream, which sounds very similar the the Dyson V series.
The picture of the filter here is after I quickly did the entire house, so it seems very efficient, and everything comes apart easily for cleaning or replacing any parts.
Ill update this thread as and when I introduce it to different types of flooring in my boyfriend mother house lol. [this post was last edited: 10/23/2020-11:14]
