Eureka

With the recent discussion of Eurekas on this thread, I was wondering if you would have attachment sets for my old Eurekas. I have a 260, a G-2, and (I think) a model 10. Also a nozzle latch for the 10. The one on it is broken and I tried to replace it with a latch from a 505-515 Kirby but it didn't fit. Here are pictures of them. Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,

The nozzle latch is NO.The upright attachment sets are MAYBE.There should be some from 60s & 50s with cardboard caddys and possibly 30s with long flat box.I have several things from your above list but so far no hose.

Hello FedEx,goodby parts

Some rare vac accessories are out of my building and heading west in a FedEx truck.Which truck is next--your truck?,UPS truck?,FedEx truck? or scrap metal guys big red truck??

Kenmore Ken Karts

I have 5 of these in my collection. All of mine are complete with original attachments & they all run like a top. I was saddened to see all of those ones from A1 going for scrap. Could have used 2-3 of those to cannibalize for spare parts before they went to scrap. the armatures in these excepting the 2 1959-60 wide track at the extreme right never become shorted because Birtman Electric used military grade varnish on the windings. Thans Rugsucker for taking those 5 pictures

Jeff

Please post your 260 photo & a photo of its data plate on thread 44972. Does it have a square or round handle?

Thanks

Hello Chris,goodby vacs-

-Chris made a return trip to the Vac Shop(& a return trip to Ridgewood Barbecue)and left with Reginas,Royal,Viking,Sanitaire,Singer and MORE leaving MUCH for those to follow or wait for the UPS truck.Having a first layer removed helps to see what is in the next layer.Who will be next?!?

Jimmy,

I love the colors of those two DAMs in the last picture! Especially, the green!
You definitely have some neat, unusual machines.
Believe me when I say, it would be impossible for me to get to your store. I simply can’t travel that far. But, if I could, I’d probably need a U-haul! (And, a new place to live, because I’d get thrown out!) LOL

Barry,

There are more, better DAMs in attic in many pretty colors. The Power Drives were shipped in one piece. The handle can be removed on non PD for easier shipping.
Les,
I have had very few wide tracks. All are gone but may have a brush and bottom plate.

Hey Jimmy,
Just checking to see if you got a chance to see if you had anything on my list from 12-14.
No rush of course; just wanted to make sure I was not forgotten in your mass cleaning efforts.
Thanks!

Thanks for the update Jimmy (wow I am late to respond!)
As mentioned, no rush. Glad you are finding some stuff though.
Completeness of the list and clearing out your stash are the important things.
Great news on the G5 hose - hope you have some other nice G5 stuff I need.

The

Old straight suction machine usually a wood with bristles placed bind the nozzle.
You have any old vacuum outer bags not on machines?

Les,

Very few if any straight suction uprights. There will be bags and parts but only after more vacuums are out of the building and out of the way of much more to go.

Is donating working machines an option?

I can’t help but see you are throwing away machines. Not sure if you have a Goodwill or Salvation Army or other thrift stores nearby. Often they will take working items even if they are old. I never see vacuums sitting around in thrift shops too long…they usually sell and might be an alternative option to dispose of some of this stuff. I get it though… it really is overwhelming. I was “given plenty three Electrolux canisters I didn’t want and a tub of parts and attachments I didn’t even want when I bought one Elux upright from a local collector. I finally was able to pass the items on to other collectors for the cost of shipping only but had to deal with getting boxes, packing paper, etc and then packing and shipping took some time. Hence I’m limiting myself and constantly downsizing to what I really want and will enjoy.

Well, hopefully you can donate some that work and make it an easy way to dispose of them.

Jon

Jon

You do realize he has 10s of thousands of vacs. He could donate half the state with vacuums and still have a metric @$$ ton.

I'd like to officially throw my hat into the ring...

And create a list as well. I apologize in advance, as it's pretty long.
Here goes:

Eureka 2070-D attachments, hose, and owner's manual

Eureka 613-A attachments, wands, and owner's manual

Electrolux 1401 super J floor head, dusting brush, crevice tool, and owner's manual.

Electrolux 1205 dusting brush clip, dusting brush, crevice tool and floor head

Electrolux G (early turquoise version) dusting brush and crevice tool

Hoover U-4423 outer bag

Kirby Classic III (2-CB) attachments, hose, shampooer, floor buffer, outer bag with EmTor, and owner's manual

Hoover brush vac (model S-1083) filters and belts

Wards 703 (hoover Helpmate rebrand) spare motor, filters, crevice tool, and owner's manual.

Hoover celebrity 4 deluxe (model S-3139) attachments, hose, owner's manual, and complete plastic top assembly with cord winder and tool holder

Hoover Celebrity 4 powermatic power nozzle (matching to S-3139) complete plastic housing, spare motor, and hose/plastic cuff assembly.

Hoover portapower (model S-1015-030) owner's manual, attachments, and wheel cart

Dirt devil model 103 owner's manual

Wards ESP cordaway upright with attachments and owner's manual (self propelled if possible).

Eureka ESP cordaway upright with owner's manual and attachments (self propelled if possible)

Kenmore progressive (model 116.22812201) owner's manual and pre-motor filters

Also, If you have any brochures or other literature for the Eureka Victory, or for the 1970's/80's Eureka and Hoover lineup that you'd like to sell, I'd be interested in those as well.

That's everything I can think of that I'm looking for at the moment. No rush on anything, and no big deal if you don't have it.
Thanks in advance,
Thatwasherguy.

Jon,

I'm very familiar with nearby thrift stores. My most recent purchase was all 7 seasons of Columbo. To donate a 1954 Lewyt or 70s Hoovers or 60s Shetlands would probably add one more step between me and the dumpster. At least with big red truck the metal is recycled.--Les, vacs may only be 100s but at my book store books are 1000s and this takes almost all my time.--Washerguy, I probably have most on your list. Very little time for vacs and not even close to looking at boxes of paper. Kirby stuff needs to go first. Are you close enough for trip here when parts are sorted by models?

Re: Reply #116

Hey Jimmy,

Hope all is well.

Fyi, I discovered that the Brandywine Eureka in the ad is a Model-Type 676-A—sold at Kmart and other discount department stores.

I would also be interested in a Bicentennial Eureka upright with the Early American bag cover design and with a headlight. There are several models. Attached below is Eurekaboy's non-headlight Model 1414.

Update

I have less time than ever and need most vacs out of my building. We have started at the front door and anything in my way goes away. Most below are waiting for scrap guy or gone. Anyone wanting to visit or pay for packing and shipping it will soon be now or never.
