Straight Suction Rug Tools!

Hans this is a really fun thread!  It would be interesting to know which straight suction rug tool really did the best job.

Hmm, very interesting tools there!

I am surprised, though, that Filtex wasn't sued by Electrolux over the barefloor tool they have though; that looks almost like an exact copy of the Lux tool.

Fred, your polished Filtex tools look GREAT! Tania's polisher friend in Wisconsin did a wonderful job bringing the shine back....

Hans, thanks for posting all these great pics. I love seeing old vintage vacuum tools, they were so much better designed in the old days.

My electrolux flip brush still works better on my wool persian area rugs than the power bar..Something to be said for the old fashion way of doing things.

I used the Elux bare-floor tool on the nylon loop carpeting in my bedroom (one might say that such carpeting deserved to be destroyed) and destroyed it by dragging the floor tool across it with the gleaner on. I thought I was doing a good job, but I was combing the fibers to shreds. I was probably four years old.
My older sister said I was "overvacuuming" the rug. Like such a concept would ever be possible!

<span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">Wow, Fred. That is one beautiful set of Filtex tools. Polishing is really worthwhile. Just beautiful!</span>

<span style="font-family: tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">And.... don't you wonder if Lucy ever REALLY vacuumed? She doesn't seem like she would've been interested....</span>
