Put it this way. I have a Bissell big green carpet washer and it is excellent. I have had it for a few years now and before I had my felix, it would always get up gritty sand, clump of dead pile and pet hair. Since using the felix, the Bissell picks up nothing more than dirty water, so the felix must be doing an excellent job at cleaning my carpets. Most of my carpets are very thick and heavy, which I prefer as it makes a room quitter and helps with heat insulation, not only that they are just more comfortable, but obviously dense piled carpets pose more of a challenge to a vacuum than medium to low piled carpet typically, and the felix works very well on all of them. I suggest you try both machines out before you make a decision however, see what you personally like.
