Sebo Airbelt C3.1

Well, I went out to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, back in October, to meet a fellow collector....Filterqueenguy/Greg Paul. As part of meeting each other, we exchanged vacuum gifts....he gave me this Sebo Airbelt canister, and I outfitted his parent's Vacuflo central vac with a new Eureka Sweep & Groom PN with VGIII, new wands & hose handle, & a new outboard cord & straps to convert their existing central vac hose to use with the power head.

I really like this vacuum a lot! It's amazing how powerful it is. I really enjoy using it. Greg, thanks for such a nice gift, and it was a pleasure meeting you!

That was a nice swap! As you probably know I'm not a fan of canisters with PN heads. The C series is a very old vacuum, built to compete with the old Miele S500 series, a model I had for many years. The C series is a good design though and you'll be able to use old Windsor Sensor dust bags/SEBO X1 Automatic dust bags as they used the same ones.

It's about the only European model I know of that comes with a user manual that fits into the same area as the tools, which are full size compared to smaller cleaning tools.

Thanks for the kind comments, Sebo_fan! Yes, I could see how the Miele S500 series was their target to go after....and I think on some respects, this Sebo happens to be a bit better! The hose handle is certainly much more ergonomic than the Miele's hose handles were, & I also find the Sebo's casters make it easier to pull behind you than Miele's are.

That Sebo....

is one mean cleaning machine!

I worked in a vac shop that sold and serviced Sebos.

That particular model was one of the best sellers.

That style of power head is a very durable, effective, and you can easily change the brush strips on the roller. There are a few typs of brush strips available for that.

As far as servicing that Sebo, it is very simple.

The only two things I had to do is change the air belt and or the cord winder.

Other than that, These Sebo vacuums were not in the shop for servicing or repair.

I think that the Sebo air belt c3.1 vacuum is one of the best that company has designed.

Here is the top of the Sebo Airbelt canister. There are two lights, a Bag Change indicator light, & a second light to indicate power. It's very similar to the power on light Electrolux canisters have, but slightly different. If the vacuum is plugged in & the power switch is turned on, but the speed control is at Minimum & the motor is not running, it will stay on to indicate the vacuum is receiving power.

Congrats! I've always wondered why they put the hose off to the side like that.... if it was functional or purely aesthetic....

Sadly I never got to own a C series yet - as I say the S571 was enough for me - and at the time I was happy with our old family owned Sebo X1 Auto upright.

The side hose location was added purely because Sebo, as a private company didn't have or hadn't made smaller cleaning tools and as such when the 3 larger tools took up all the room, there was little space left for the hose to go. Same with the K series (I have a K3 Premium), even though they managed to get a flat upholstery lint picker tool added on the front, the model is dependable on the longer crevice tool that slides in all the way at the back.
