Ah yes the Soviet Military Vacuum Cleaner ;p

Used on all their Space Stations as standard, also came in Orange.

They'd of course be used inside the space station for cleaning dust and crumbs out of electronic equipment :P last thing you need is the thing that supplies you with OXYGEN screwing up :P

Of course with the fact they're on a space station they would end up breathing in "ye olde canister vac exhaust" :P
 
Well, you must remember the Soviet mentality, Alan ;]

Nasa spent millions making a pen that wouldn't lose it's ink in Zero G for use by astronauts..

The Soviets used a pencil.

You know where I'm going with this? :P
 
It is indeed a civilian model, as well.

The company was called Raketa (sort of looks like Paketa in cyrillic) or Rocket in English, still makes vacuum cleaners today.
