Hey Joe,
I commend you as well, for being fair in checking & replacing bags & belts on customer's machines before using them.
I also would check/change their machine's bag/belt before any tests.
I didn't carry 'other' brands of supplies, as I didn't want any contamination or infections of the Kirby products. ~~lol~~ (RELAX Rick, & others, I'm only teasing!!!) ~~lol~~
I would ask the customer before I even got set-up, if they had a replacement bag & belt; & I was going to do a quick courtesy check of their machine for them.
If they didn't, & they had a full or semi-full bag, I would literally dig the 'stuff' out of the bag or open a seam to empty it then staple & tape it back up. I wanted their machine to be working in as peak as possible (at the time) condition before any comparison tests.
It was being nice, business smart & THE RIGHT THING TO DO. (Golden Rule)
