Was vacuuming today with my Riccar 1700 canister and the hose split!!! AAAAhhhhhhhh!!! No abuse, machine was purchased as a refurb from an authorized Riccar/ Simplicity dealer about 9 months ago. The Riccar 1700 canister has a long hose probably 7' or 8' with all electronic controls on handle for suction regulation, power head and suction unit on/off. The top of the hose has an accordian on it to protect the hose from certain bends, etc. 90% of the time when storing this unit, the hose is disconnected from power head to prevent any damage.
All electric functions are fine but hose has a big slit under accordian near top of hose. Anyone have any ideas how to remove the accordian so I can try to service the hose? Looks like there is a slot to fit a flat head screwdriver in there but I didn't have any luck disengaging the accordian with the screwdriver gently so I don't break any more plastic.
Here is a picture of the machine. I'll work on a close up of the hose!
Thanks!
