Rexair Rainbow trademarks SRX name - could new machine be coming very soon?

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Sadly the price is inflated due to the way that it is sold. Were they sold using traditional methods, the price would likely be less than 1/2 the DTD price.
But without the in home demonstration using the million dollar sales pitch, who would buy one? There are unofficial sellers on amazon selling the "old" black model for around $1600 "refurbished". Many reviewers say the products appear to be brand new. When I had a Rainbow demo, the salesperson called the machine "new", but a clever person can see signs that it had been used in countless demonstrations.

This leads me to also wonder if it’s cheeped to get a SRX system through the distributor, but from a service center/ distributor office. That way they’re not in our homes, thus not being able to sell for DTD price tag,

I came across a rainbow dealers facebook page that updated there cover and profile pictures with the new SRX and even posted the new features video and it has since been removed. Its almost like this new model is some big secret

Of course they're secretive. They're trying to unload old inventory without discounting it. If you agreed to buy a Rainbow for around $3000, and then you found out that you were getting the old model, you might cancel the sale or demand a discount. Legally you only have a very short time to cancel the sale for DTD sales.

Yeah there is just so much evidence that points to them as being unethical.

No discount for previous model
Trying to suppress information on new model
Something like a three day return policy
You don't actually get a new vacuum. It's been used in multiple demos.
Hard pressured for new leads

I would much rather deal with Miele or Aerus. Aerus has some variation in price between dealers but you will get a new machine in a sealed box. Aerus will also give good deals on outgoing models. My neighbor got a huge discount on the Guardian Ultra when the Platinum came out.

Question: is there also a return policy for the optional accessories too? Like if we purchase a optional accessory (aquamate, rainjet, etc) and decided it’s not what we needed/ wanted, is there a return policy. I know for the machine it’s 3 days after purchase (which is a little crazy), but does that also apply to the optional accessories?

Check out rainbow macon's facebook page they have some new photos as well as the demo videos

So any news regarding the Rainbow SRX being rated by the carpet and rug institute? The Rainbow E-2 was rated in silver category.

From the CRI website (link provided), we can see that a silver rated vacuum removes 50-54% of the soil in testing and has to meet some minimal dust containment criteria.

2. Household Use Vacuum Cleaner Program:

Performance Standard:
Soil Removal Dust Containment
Bronze 40 – 49% ≤ 100 µg/m3 of dust particles
Silver 50 – 54% ≤ 100 µg/m3 of dust particles
Gold ≥ 55% ≤ 35 µg/m3 of dust particles

These standards provide a clue as to why the in home demonstrations are so effective. No vacuum gets anywhere close to 100% of the debris from the rug, so there is always some dirt to "find" in the rug.

Does the Rainbow offer more than one brush roll option to accommodate users of super plush carpeting? Since the height is not adjustable, does it even work on these modern carpets?

The rainbow website still doesn’t mention the amazing new srx. Am a little surprised that they haven’t unloaded the old models yet.

@ ralph123

Rainbow doesn't offer more than one power nozzle option per model. The power nozzle thats sold with the unit is the ony option you get. You do also get a hard floor brush if you have hard surface floors as an option. The new SRX has a suction notch on the front of the nozzle, kind of like what dyson has on both the v10/v11 torque drive cleaner heads. As for the website still showing the old model, I was wondering the same thing. If you look further back through this thread, I've also ask the same question in various post that I've posted. They probably haven't updated it due to the fact that maybe some distributors haven't gotten it. I know one of the distrubtors in my area said she was getting the new model some time this week, whereas others have probably gotten it or haven't gotten it yet. On a side note, the wikipedia has updated with the new SRX mentioned in it. Below is the link with the new model posted in it.

I'm curiously waiting for the website to update too and i say this because I can't wait for the updated videos, graphics and owners manuals. I'm suprised that nobody in here has gotten the new SRX model, or has even posted anything about it, if they got it that is.

Although it's an apples to oranges comparison, consider that you can purchase a made in the US top of the line Speed Queen Side by Side Laundry Pair set with front load washer for less than the price of a new Rainbow. I have to wonder who the people are who value a vacuum cleaner enough to pay over three thousand for one. I have to wonder if Rexair will have to lower the price and/or offer low interest financing to entice buyers. Exceeding $3000 would seem like a big psychological barrier to sell the Rainbow. I can't imagine paying even $1000 for one given it's lackluster performance, but I'm probably not their target audience.

Given that one of the arguments for paying a premium for the Rainbow is that it is manufactured in the US, I always found it ironic that the Rainbow distributor in Little Rock drove a German made Mercedes (have no idea if that is still the case).

Rexair

They don't set the price, the distributor does, i.e. , they will sell it for as much as they can get for it . I'm a fan of Rainbows but wifi router even consider buying one Defoe anywhere near that price even if I hit the lotto jackpot

I'm not gonna lie I'd probably buy it even if it was 3,000. I say this because, when you purchase something you also have to think about the longevity of it and how long it'll last. Rainbows have a good rep for lasting for quite some time. So what you also do is divide the overall cost by how many years you think you'll have it, and on top of that, the system pays for itself overtime. Now yes, it may be $3,000 but that all depends on a distributor. I had one out of state (oregon) quote me a price of 3900 whereas one down in Georgia quoted me 2700. So that 1200 price difference does play into a factor, which we all know has to due with location. If you think of it like this, its like real estate. you can take one house in one area and it be a certain price. take that same house and put it in a different location and then you see the price difference. Me personally plans to put money down and then finance the rest and in my mind it'll become like a regular bill, kind of like the typical phone/ credit card bill will be, untill it gets paid off.

I'm always grateful for people who pay full price for a brand new Rainbow.

I'm patient enough to wait two years (or less) for it to become available second hand. The pawn shop had an Avalir 2 for less than $100 just a month ago. I bought a 3 year old Rainbow "black" for $125 from Facebook Marketplace. The seller hated it and wanted it gone.

While I'm just as big a fan of the 'brand new' stuff - I'd rather keep the majority of the 'new' price in my wallet.

That being said, a good friend is a Rainbow distributor (he's also a vacuum collector). He's bringing the new SRX model to our vacuum collector's Thanksgiving party to demo for the whole group. I know at least two of my friends who will be there will buy one.

juju - I hope you are able to realize your dream of owning a Rainbow Srx. Given that you believe in them so much, perhaps you should sell them on the side to EARN your Rainbow

You know that’s not a bad idea. I’m actually looking to change my career form retail to something more meaningful. So anyone else see that Dyson v11 on qvc for sale this weekend. Shoot I’m tempted to get that and wait a little for the SRX. But if I can sell the SRX and or work in a office or warehouse in central Florida and save up for it then that would be great. Because I don’t wanna pay 499 for a Dyson (yes that’s how great the deal is on the v11 torque drive) and then turn around and get the SRX. Where I can put the same amount that I would spend on said Dyson, and put that towards the SRX. I’ve never even owned a rainbow, let alone used one. I mean I could be a brand rep for Rexair and or Kitchenaid, or even Dyson, because those are the top 3 home brands that I’m somewhat passionate about. So if y’all know any dealers/ distributors in the central Floria region that’s looking to hire let me know.
