Good Point

LOL, maybe it's a different animal with something sold door to door? LOL Not that that makes a difference. Anyway, I was thinking about when I was reading about the many new features of the new rainbow and it kind of surprised me that one of the features was NOT a self-cleaning separator. Not that I mind cleaning it but it would be kind of cool not to have to do that. Of course, I'm just basing that off the pic I saw of the new features and there were a LOT of new features. Wouldn't that be like a huge selling point especially since Hyla has had one forever.....I've never seen a video of someone taking a Hyla apart to see if they really can get dirty inside so I don't know.

i just wish there was more videos of it, like a launch video. I aslo wished they discuessed if they did any updating to any of the optional accessories, or if they're lauching any new accessories.

its coming.......

its hard to have patience when you're so anxious for something!! haha. eh juju93?? heck, YOU'VE got ME excited for the official announcement/release now!! thanks a lot!

look, the way i see it is like this. Yall know how ever September apple launches new products and then within a few WEEKS they're available in stores across the nation. I feel like rexair should've done that. When they launched the new SRX model they should've started shipment within that month and not decided to wait several months for shipment to start. I mean even kirby didn't do that when they launched the avalir 5 (can't believe its been that long) years ago. When they launch the avalir they started shipment within 2-3 months and so on. What I'm basically saying don't launch something if your going to wait to distribute it to the public several months later. I say several months later because according to others it won't be available till towards the end of the year. Do keep in mind that this got launch back in late may. Because of this you'll have potential customers holding out and not getting the current E2 Black for they may know about the new SRX and would prefer that. I know I would and I don't even own a rainbow, let alone used one. But when this new SRX comes out, I'll be getting one.

OK

After digging I was able to find the facebook video. The crowd was going NUTS. It's so hard to tell but it looks redesigned COMPLETELY....I mean EVERYTHING! Again, hard to tell but I'm not sure I'm loving the graphics and the PN looks weird (again, hard to make a judgment yet) The water bath looked like it was going crazy with turbulence. The machine didn't look quite as large. The basin looked larger and almost a blue tint to it. The rainbow looks like it could lean back on the dolly without having to take the dolly off to remove the basin. The hose handle looked larger.

My parents still have the E Series they bought around 1999. I don't think it's been used since 2001 when they moved into their new house with a central vacuum. I remember what a chore it was to fill, empty, and clean the thing. I can't imagine using one with dogs that shed like mine do.

so looking through the facebook search thing, it looks like the new SRX is available in the Asian markets. Why do we have to wait till the end of the year, if they already start selling it. I love the black and blue color combo with the new model.

Maybe

they sold out of the black models in Asia faster than the USA?

Anyway, I was wondering......when does Rexair cease making parts for any of their past model Rainbows? I'm not 100% sure, but I think someone who owns an SE can still get "genuine" parts... I guess my question is at what point does Rexair completely stop making parts for a past model? Kind of off topic, sorry. Just a random though I had.

I would imagine that some of those replacement parts are outsourced to third party manufacturers after a certain point. There are plenty of Rainbow-identical replacement tools out there, with the only difference being that they don't have the letter "R" marked on them. The last few times I tried to find a brand new genuine Rainbow straight suction rug nozzle, I could only find one that was off brand, but it was well made and looked like the original. This was even from a Rainbow dealer in the Houston TX area.

Also, don't apologize for going "kind of off topic".  It gave us a well needed distraction. I welcome such distractions because we're obviously going to be waiting a while for Rainbow's new model.

I hope you guys who are chomping at the bit over this have been saving your pennies. Actually, saving your dollars is more like it. 3300 of them. Could be more depending upon where you live. The independent distributors are allowed to set their own pricing. I plan on waiting two years. They will be at the pawnshop for 200 bucks. Just like those Avalir 2’s. I bought an avalir 1 from Facebook marketplace for $85. The people hated it.

You’ve got the right idea!

My e2 black that I bought in 2012 was a 1 year old bank repossession that I sniped on eBay for $600. Luckily, it had been well cared for and everything was with it including the RainJet and AquaMate. Some of those bank repos are not too pretty!

kind of off topic

I can't wait to see what the website will look like with this new model as well as the "how to" videos. I'm curious to what optional attachments got changed/updated. I would assume the MiniJet would change due to the fact that the new SRX has a new hose connect function. As for the rainbowmate, I don't think that would get updated and I say this because it just got updated like not even 2 years ago.

I've already been through this with the black model

Since I bought my gold 2 speed in 2006....I was drooling over the black model, but even though I've used my Gold 2 speed a lot over the years, it still shines like new and there is no way I'm getting rid of it for a new model.......still, the new ones I can dream about. Rainbows are definitely my most favorite vacuum of all time.

In 2011 the price for my e2 black was 2595. After trade in of my e2 gold the final price was 1795 and I got the aquamate rainjet and rainbow mate free. I guess in a more populated area your going to pay more.

average cost

What is the average cost of a rainbow unit, just the unit and attachments, with NO optional accessories?

So I was also just on google and I searched the SRX and on google image some new pictures came up. This model is available in the Asian markets (as previously mentioned) and now the images for this model are starting to pop up.

I would not be at all surprised if they retail the new machine for $3300. That's a figure I heard from someone who will be selling them, as they sell the Black model now. Right now, in the market I'm in, the Black goes for $2895.

I'm glad to see they went back to the Oval dusting brush. The picture i seen had the serial number and it had a manufacture date of 3/19. Apparently they have been in production for some time. I also dont like all the stuff on the machine end of the hose

You would think the E2 Black model would be cheaper than 2900 since it’s been out for 8 years. Any Florida distributors got an idea on how much the new SRX model will run for? Also how much would I have to put down on one if I want to finance one and have payments of about 50-75 dollars a month. And also if I want the following optional accessories:
Rainjet complete
Aquamate
Rainbowmate
Mini jet
Sprayer/rexafoamer
Optional 14ft hose and 4qt basin (if these exist for this models)

How much additional would all this cost to add on to my total bill for the new model and can I finance all of these things together, or do I have to pay for them upfront and only finance the vacuum itself?

Just so you know how they do it:
The AquaMate and RainbowMate are designed to be given away in exchange for leads. Most salespeople have no idea how to sell one or how much they sell for, as they normally give them away. Be prepared to pay $100 for a RainbowMate and about $200 for the AquaMate if you buy them.

Be prepared for at least a $100 price on the Rainjet attachment. Be prepared to spend at least $150 on the extra long hose. Most distributors sell the 4 quart pan for about $80.

Most US distributors do not carry the Rexafoamer as the sprayer is an optional attachment virtually no one buys. They would normally not carry it in stock.

Think about how much you want to put down. At least $500 would be normal for the 'Full Package" (yes, you can finance the optional parts). Your interest rate and length of financing time depend a lot upon your credit report. People with "not great" credit pay between 21 to 27 percent interest. The better your credit, the less the interest rate and the longer of a time you can finance the total for.

With tax and all the optional parts you want, expect to spend a little more than $4000 for the new SRX model (these prices are based upon a guess based upon the selling price of the black model as of August, 2019).

If you financed at $50 to $70 per month, expect the total of payments with interest and down payment to be $5000.

Personally, I'm going to wait a year and pick one up that was a repo or at the pawn shop for MUCH less than a grand. Wait 2 years, and you'll be able to get one from Facebook Marketplace for $500 or so. Of course, you'll have to buy your optional pieces brand new, since almost no one get any of them. Remember you have to give the names of your friends to the salesman to qualify to get one of them free.

Question

Is the motor and water basin removable from the dolly? If not that's going to make stairs a PITA

heres a video link

Well I dont have carpet so i dont need the aquamate (eventhough i still want it). Is there any way I could opt out the aquamate for say something like the 14ft hose or the 4qt water basin? Also I did the calculations of what the payments would come out to and it was no where near 5k. I did as followed.
$50x 36 (months typically finance)= 1800
$75x36=2700
so I'm looking at between 1800-2700. I prefer to spend more and get it brand new rather than buy it used at a pawn shop.

can we just talk about how cool this new model is. That 2qt water basin looks really small to me. hopefully they have the 4qt basin for this model, that and the 14ft hose. Those are my 2 must haves for this model.

Thanks for sharing that video Juju!

The SRX looks fantastic. I'm stoked Rexair made so many improvements to the new machine. The new power nozzle looks great (that looks like a lifetime belt on there!), and the way the bin slides out looks much easier. The cord looks longer too. Can't wait to get my hands on one someday.

On a marketing note, the music in the second 'features' part of that video is surprisingly catchy for a vacuum ad!

Power nozzle.

Well there's the confirmation that the belt path is in the center. I just don't like that, I hate having that dead spot in the cleaning path, especially with bypass designs. Why would they move away from it with the E2 black's later revision and then move back to it again? I have to wonder if there would be another revision to it later on? Though the side brushes are no longer present so probably not.

how disappointing

I loved it until I saw the (again) lack of a cord winder. I could have sworn that the photo of the "features list" said pull-release cord storage. I thought for sure they would finally add that. They didn't.

Not paying that much for a vacuum that lacks such a simple addition.

:-(

Don’t get me wrong the video is nice but it’s a bit dramatic in terms of music and how it’s being presented. I mean come on it’s not a dramatic movie. After seeing the improvements and features part of the video I have a few questions to add.
1. When it says quick release function, is it the same thing as the Dyson quick release function?
2. Is that sliding notch on the nozzle work the same way as the notch on the Dyson cordless heads?
3. Also what is that blue lever on the back of the power nozzle?

The blue lever is to release the wand from the upright postion. I really don't think a cord winder is necessary. They would have to make the motor unit bigger to accommodate it and most people would probably end up breaking it anyway. I read somewhere rexair doesn't use cord winders because they know people will abuse them leading to alot of repairs

I agree Blackheart. Why would they put the belt in the middle of the air path? Not only does it reduce the surface area of the brush but it impedes airflow. Not to mention all of that dirt and debris will quickly wear down the belt. The belt needs to be on the side where it is out of the way of the air path and protected. And still no height adjustment.
