Conceptual images on video

This is no different than going to an auto show and seeing a “concept car” deemed to be available in the near future. We shouldn’t even be privy to this video. Someone bootlegged it and made it available online. If I were to give merit to any images of the power nozzle, I’d have to acknowledge that it appears there’s some sort of belt guard, or something to isolate the belt from the air way/dirt path. After all, if it’s on the internet, it must be true....[this post was last edited: 8/25/2019-18:40]

I’m kind of curious to how strong the magnetic thing is on the hose. Like what I mean is when you pull the rainbow with the hose you would think the hose would come off since the machine. If that make any sense.

I would hope

that the dolly is removable and that's just a feature for easy changing/putting on the basin. Imagine if it's not removable how much of a pain it would be to clean the separator or the underside. Surely it's removable. I can't imagine it's fixed like that. OR, if it is fixed like that, perhaps it's easy turn upside down with no issues for cleaning. I've dealt with a rainbow belt in the center for a long time.My biggest wonder is the 30% more airflow. That's A LOT! I wonder what they are doing to achieve this since water filtration vacuums have a limit and I thought they reached that limit with the 2 speeds

They could gain airflow by switching to a crushproof hose but it doesn't look like they did from watching the video. So many missed opportunities with this "upgrade".

Where did you hear the two speed was at the limit for airflow for a water vac?

If they were at the limit maybe the 30% airflow improvement is at the powerhead which I’m sure could be achieved by streamlining the airflow paths in the powerhead to eliminate airflow turbulence and leaks which would reduce effective airflow. Perhaps this is the reason for moving the belt back to the center. Perhaps something along the lines of the Hoover Dual V I’m thinking of in terms of internal powerhead design.

I think I remember reading

that water filtration vacuums have a limit otherwise water gets sucked to the motor. I'm no engineer, so I don't know if that's true. They definitely have improved airflow over the years with various models, but it's stayed pretty much the same with the 2-speed brushless motors.....so that's just what I assumed.

@mark40511. There hasn’t been much improvement on airflow for Rainbows since 1980, sadly....even some later ones were worse than previous ones ...ie the SE PE model had worse airflow than the earlie SE model . According to Blackhearts’s and Vaclab’s airflow testing ....very little cfm improvement ...like 4-10 cfm. :-(. I bet the water lift is similar or no improvement over the same period . I really hope he hoped for airflow improvement comes from a improved power-nozzle design if it’s true that they are at the limit for power on a water based machine . Heres to hoping for the best!!

Interesting video! I guess I wasn’t assuming that the crushproof name/design automatically meant it had Better airflow....perhaps it does. The inner hose design make all the difference so suppose im learning that crushproof always insinuates a smooth inner hose vs he rubbed wire ones.
Thanks!!

as long as it cleans better than my dyson cordless and has good agitation thats all i care about. I was kind of hoping rexair would've came up with a newly design aquamate or new design rainjet, but sadly they didnt change either accessories, just the decals and box designs on them. kind of was hoping for "aquamate 4" to come out alongside this new SRX model. Looking online it looks like in the asian markets they also get the sprayer/rexafoamer with their machines. Does anybody know why that is and why we don't. Also the quick release function is that just for the power nozzel only or does that mean connection pieces have a quick release function? I also wonder how the new pet grooming tool will work. like does it work the same way as the dyson groom tool or does it work differently. What I mean is, is it a brush that sucks the hair up into the machine or is it a brush that glenty brushes the dog and not suck up any fur. Hopefully within the next few years Rexair launches some new optional accessories to be used with the new(er) models. Maybe something to buff and polish floors.

We will see the new Rainbow sooner than you think. I heard from a little bird that 4-8weeks. I also heard that SRX on paper has less lift but more air flow? Idk how that is possible or where they are taking measurements from. I do know that the new PN has a bar that goes all the way across but can't/shouldn't be used on bare floors. I got to thinking and I bet they made changes so that the PN will seal up better on carpet which I will discuss in a sec. Hose connection as of right now is not the same.

Now back to the PN sealing to carpet... I was doing some once a month cleaning behind the couches and I first cleaned with my Sentria 2 which has a new bag. I vacuumed slowly and in multiple directions. I wanted to deep clean and fluff the carpet a bit. I them switched to the Rainbow black to get the edges and just do a personal test. The Rainbow blew the Kirby away and I am shocked. It picked up A LOT more sand and some kitty litter.. it was so noticeable I could easily hear it going through my hose. I have no known issues with my Kirby and it's brand new to me. The previous owner was elderly and I think only used it once. It didn't have any wear. So if the SRX PN sucked to the carpet better (bc otherwise I don't know of any airflow improvements) then we are looking at a beast. But this leads to another question. I hope that sincr the brush roll goes the full length of the PN that airflow per square inch is the same or much better. I want rainbow to make a larger hose as that seems to have the most impact from judging by the sounds when I connect mine.

I had a feeling that it was going to be sooner than the end of the year before we got the new SRX. I say this because if people want the new model compare to getting the old E2 Black then Rexairs going to have to cut back the production or reduce the cost of the E2 Black in order to sell them. I’m excited for this new model and the various improvements it has, mostly the quieter operation. Can you ask your source if there’s a 14ft hose and 4qt basin for the new model? Those are the 2 main things I want with this model. Also does anyone know how long it’ll take for Rexair to update the website with the new model and all the information on it as well as the videos and manuals?

More flow less suction.

From what we've seen the motor appears to be a single stage. the more stages a motor has the more suction it will generally have. Though with each additional stage you lose some flow, there are stationary stages between them which makes the airpath more complex. It could also be that the fan is deeper which would would most likely require more torque to move.

Wait

PN sealing to carpet? Isn't that a BAD thing?
I thought by sealing it would cut off the airflow - similar to you putting your hand over the wand suction? Same with the hard floor brush - they cut out grooves in the brush so get airflow...Or am I wrong? LOL I dunno.

The new SRX power nozzle has a sliding air vent on it, kind of like the Dyson torque cleaner heads have a sliding notch, the same goes with the SRX power nozzle. It has a sliding notch that controls the airflow.

Off topic: does anybody know how long it take for Rexair to update their website, as soon as the SRX launches, with all the new videos and manuals for it?

After doing some google searching and translating i found that Hong Kong was the first to receive the new SRX on august 22. Personally i think the we should have gotten it first since its made in the USA. Its selling at nearly 40,000 yuan which in us dollars is $5,621.40.

5k is a lot for a rainbow cleaning system. If you look at the fb search engine and search “rainbow SRX” you’ll see a lot of things about it due to the fact that the Asian market got it first.

If it is going to be close to 6K----That vacuum had better fill its bin, assemble itself,do the work, than empty its bin, disassble itself and put away in the closet by itself!!Think of it for that price folks will probably hire maids and janitorial services instead. They are pricing themselves out of the market!WON'T BUY!!!
