Always keep an eye out for machines being used commercially. Thought at first the three wire cord was wired into the machine after the fact, maybe the original cord was damaged and they replaced it with an extension cord they had lying around? Nope, it’s just plugged into the machines cord. Wonder how long they’ve been using it like this. Brush chamber is so clouded up you can’t even see if the brush roll is in it anymore. Yes,
This is definitely becoming a common practice. I think it's because new business owners don't know much about good quality vacuums, and price of course. Most people say "Its just a vacuum" but we know its much more than that.

Sad but true. The country club I work at uses a residential Bissell, which appears to be a Swivel Rewind Pet. Its brushroll chamber is also clouded up to where you can't see the brushroll. I haven't seen an extension cord being used with that vacuum, but the machine's cord isn't even wrapped up properly, just loosely thrown around the handle. I wish the porters had the decency to wrap the cord around the hooks, just like normal people would.
