I thought this would be an appropriate thread to post during this time of year of my matchin set of red and green Eureka ESP uprights with the matchin powerteam canisters. The maroon canister and green upright were found on a treasure hunt that I went on this past summer with John Pease at vacuum store in Illinois. There was a whole house full of piles and piles of old vacuums, it was amazing. After a good cleanup and some new parts they turned out quite nice. The green canister I bought from a used vacuum store here in St. Louis. The maroon ESP "cordaway" upright I got today from my good friend Tom Gasko. He has had it for quite a while and it's been sitting in his shop. When he found out that I had the matching canister, he offered me this fabulous upright! It is such a cool machine, and semi rare to have the cordwinder. Too bad Eureka doesn't make machines like these anymore. Thanks again Tom for this awesome vacuum!! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

John Pease, another collector here in St. Louis came over for dinner and to play with vacuums. Here are some pictures :)

Green Eurekas

Here is the green set. The upright is pretty much the same machine, except is has a VibraGroomer 2.

**FAINT**

You sure have been busy raking in the gems! The Brandywine model looks just MINT, and I have to admit that both colors make for some FABULOUS matched sets which, honestly, is a hell of a lot better than having the individual machine!

Now all you need to find are some 3.5/4-amp blender-motor uprights to play with alongside the ESPs...;-)

Very nice :)

Must say the red model looks nice, i've always thought (especially recently) that dark red/burgundy has a certain elegance to it :P very manly colour.. lol

Nice Eurekas Derrick!

I'm going to have to take photos of mine some day. Most of mine are in storage until the new vacuum room gets underway after the first of the year!

Green Acres

As I recall, we had the same Green ESP in the late 70's,"new for the time",A great cleaner, sucked yards&yards of green shag before Mom,Dad,or Sis could kill it, poor thing!! Three bullies on one "not fair"!! Still held-up like a champ! Nice to see the greens together.

Those are beautiful machines! And what else is nice is that they still make that same basic machine, but it is part of the Sanitaire System Pro (blue household) line, rather than the lower priced Eureka brand. I sell a fair number of them in my store, and am convinced that this is the best cleaning upright on the market today, as well as very durable.

Love the Esp's

Derreck
You have 4 of the really best vacs that I ever sold for Eureka. Either wholsale or retail in my vac shop back in the
80's. In fact my former wife is still using the green ESP
from back in those days. The Cordwinder (2097) was one of the
very best sellers back in the day!! You would be amazed at the
suction the attachments have with under the front conversion.

Derreck...these are very festive eurekas! Thanks for the pics. Eureka had a lot of glitz and yet they do clean carpet well. I like the green canister...very nice!

The bag should be....

Derreck,

Rather elusive, as many of the early burgandy vinyl bags cracked from age and stress of the huge F and G bags, but the 2097 should have a boxtop bag, with the boxtop done in the corresponding white to the base.

It's a fabulous cleaner tho, and I have one that Jeff Parker and I found in Alsip Illinois several years ago! I also have an earlier model which is the Golden Powertouch with the floral brocade bag with the darker gold boxtop!

Great pair...

Chad
