Hi everyone,

I just came across a Kijiji ad for an AP100 owner’s manual that looks almost untouched, from a seller in Trois-Rivières, QC: https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1217030116

I’ve been following AP100s for a while and really admire the pristine examples some collectors manage to find. From the photo, does this manual look like it’s in near-mint/collector condition? Any insights would be greatly appreciated—I’m always eager to learn from those with more experience!

Thanks so much!

Why would it matter if its in "near-mint/collector condition" ? It looks like any other used old vacuum manual to me.
Haha, you’re right — to most people it probably is just another old vacuum manual. For me though, I have this intense (maybe even irrational!) nostalgia for Electrolux, so little things like manuals really appeal to me. They connect me to the history of the machines I love.

You are not alone. I also collect the literature.
I was known for my huge collection of vacuum cleaner literature, owners manuals, instruction books, etc. I always allowed people to go through and look at them during the conventions. When I retired I offered them to many people, tons of collectors and friends. No one wanted it. Into the trash went the original Dyson Cyclon information from 1984, as well as thousands of owners manuals and tons of literature. Nobody wanted it. And I was not going to photograph each one for eBay. I wish more collectors had wanted the literature. I was giving it away.

I had no idea you were retiring or I would have bought all kinds of stuff from you. I have been slowly buying stuff from Jimmy Martin as he gets into places in his old shop where the stuff I'm interested in is lurking but he is super busy so patience is a must. I stalked this site for a long time and don't remember seeing you posting a clean out in the Supermarket thread like Jimmy did. I guess I missed it, I snost and I lost. I'm way out on the left coast so I pay to have UPS package the stuff for Jimmy and ship it, but for the kinds of treasure lurking in his store it is well worth it. One side of me wants to fly out and rent a big 24 foot box truck, load it and drive home but I don't think my wife would see the humor in that O_O As it is whenever a big box lands on our porch I get arched eyebrows and she says "another vacuum" in her best accusatory tone.
