Question Regarding Electrolux C Bags

I have an Electrolux LX. Looking for C bags on the Internet, I see a few that are 4 ply, but most do not specify what they are in this regard. Does that mean they are not 4 ply? Going to the local store for vacuum bags leaves little choice, buy what they have or buy nothing.

I bought some of these recently on amazon and they were the real thing. But an even better place with a few better options than the 4-ply is evacuumstore.com. They've got allergen bags and HEPA bags that kick butt.

I would suggest these bags

Here is a link to the bags I would suggest, they are cloth bags, much better than the paper bags Aerus provides.

Kevin! Just got glue a Hoover J bag collar into a Kenmore Canister (Q or 5055/50558) Cloth HEPA bag and your in business!

I just looked at some of these bags, but the collar is offset.  Is that gonna work gluing on a J bag collar offset like that?

You can always search for the genuine Electrolux bags on sites like Ebay too.

As a rule of thumb....I'd be leery of any paper bags that weren't identified as 4 ply. As said, genuine Elux paper bags are 4ply.

Normally I would say that it's best to use the genuine bags, made by the manufacturer of the vacuum, unless the bags are no longer being made, in that case, you have to find an alternative. But in this case, the Perfect bags that I mentioned in the previous post are actually better than what Aerus provides. I'm not sure why Aerus has not moved to cloth bags, but for some reason, they insist on sticking with bags made of paper. In this case, the Perfect bags are better in every way.

Thank you. I'm going to try both the Perfect Bags, and the Air Plus. Aerus Bags are hard to find.

Of note, I love the perfect bags, collar a bit thick, but have to watch how full as the machine often won't shut off when full, there is that little restriction.

I use the MultiFilter 4-ply bags, which are available in bulk on eBay for around 50 cents a bag. They work great and I seem to recall someone on this list commenting that they are made by the same company that makes the Electrolux branded bags.

I forgot to ask...surely you aren't going to the expense of buying Hoover J bags, cutting off the collar and gluing them on to the Kenmore Q bags every time?? Are you cutting off the collar and reusing the same collar most times?

You can take a collar off a used J bag and trace it onto some crafters cardboard and make a stencil to cut out as many bags as you like. It's the same as one style A, B, Y, or Z bag with the semi-curve collar.

Crafters cardboard....didn't know about this, but assume my local Jo-ann Fabrics will have this.

In not sure the actual name. I've always referred to it that way. It's the same thing the bag collars are made of.
