Hi Paul.
Thats the problem with Turbopowers - so many of the blooming things and once you get away from the core ranges, finding information about them is difficult. Gets even harder towards the end of production, as obviously they became a kind of niche model that Hoover probably want that interested in and so publicity got rarer and rarer.
Hi Paul continued & Gareth
The two weird Turbopowers pictured, alongside the more normal example, are I am assuming prototypes. The picture is a screen grab from the TV and I think it was the BBC programme about Hoover's free flights fiasco. Interestting to see how the design evolved from the prototypes to the finished article.
Hi Ryan.
I remember the time that unusual red Turbopower first came on the scene. I think it was mentioned that it was a U2408, though it doesnt resemble the U2408 that I know of. If its owner is reading this, any chance of reconfirming your machines identity?
Am still working through the Electrolux history - your page scan has come in very useful. When I feel more happy with it, I will send you a copy to proof read for me!
Be interesting to see your protitype example Gareth - does it resemble any of the two shown above?
Hi Al.
With 650watts to play with, the U1650 is certainly an increase over the original 410 that the U1100 had to play with. Our U1650 is a bit unwell and will require some tinkering when its next out of storage.
Thanks for the comments guys.
Paul
