Help Support VacuumLand:

Hoover Windtunnel Plus S3639 canister. Very impressed with this vacuum. Quiet operation, same attachments Hoover was known for with the rubber fingers on upholstery nozzle, on/off switch for agitator.

My parents bought a brand new Kenmore Progressive red 25513- I'll show pictures of that next. We didn't like the Progressive- crevice tool- too narrow, had to go over areas several times for pick up, upholstery nozzle very small and no bristles or litter pickers., yes there was a powermate junior on this machine but you can't use those on every upholstered surface. No suction duct extension for other side of brush around the belt. Lots of dirt getting swept up with nowhere to go on that side. Overall unimpressive machine, it had good suction, was quiet and canister was very maneuverable cleaning attachments made this machine extremely inefficient.

So I sold the Kenmore and got the Hoover Windtunnel. Quite pleased, Dramatic improvement.

This is the Kenmore we replaced. Kenmore Progressive 25513, nice color, quiet, good suction, agitator seemed powerful but poor overall cleaning performance, on pet hair and overall deep cleaning. Inefficient tools, they need to rethink this one. Bare floor tool is awful. There are no side support brushes, so when pushed forward, it leans forward and plastic scratches floors, brushes are very short. A shame.

A shame! Suction does not reach the far end of that power nozzle, around the belt, so everything swept up on that side gets airborne. Terrible design on CenTec's behalf.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your participation in this thread -- but please keep in mind that this is the vingate forum, anything newer than 1980 shouldn't be posted in this forum or within any threads in this forum.

Hi Fred

Sorry Fred, sorry about the modern vac pictures. I was trying to reply to TJhoovermans request for some Hoover PowerMax styles. No they are not vintage, the Hoover PowerMax series was 1990's. The Hoover Spectrum may have started around 1989.

At my shop in Pomona Ca. Just as you walked in, on the far faceing wall I had painted
the freeway system and neighboring towns. But instead of putting cars on the freeways
I painted vacuum cleaners. With the above saying "Thinking of becoming a witch, why not try our company car". LOL Hopester
