Recently a friend of my Gran contacted me to let me know he had an old vacuum cleanr in his loft. I went to collect it and it turns out it's called a Parlorvac. It is a canister vacuum, long and sausage shaped. simialr to the early luxes. It came in a wooden box with it's attachments. Now I've done a lot of research and I can't find any info on the Parlorvac. Do any of you guys know anthing about it? Also my Gran's friend gave me a non electric vacuum called a Whirlwind all steel. I can't find any information on this cleaner either. I would really appreciate some help!

Picture, picture, picture

personally I have never heard of it but if you could post a picture or two that would be very helpful in identifying the Parlourvac.

I believe the Whirlwind might have been manufactured by New Maid, actually if you do a search on ebay you might well turn up an advert or two.

Actually our good friend Collector2 has one as well - see the link. This was a non electric cleaner where the fan and brush roll were driven by the wheels rather than an electric motor. They were up to about the early - mid 1960s - they did get a style update sometime in the 1950s
