Here we go again! Does it seem like I’ve been acquiring more vacuums since I said I needed to thin the herd, and not add any more? It feels that way to me.
This one, which I’m assuming is circa 1980s, I give myself a pass. It’s one that was owned by family, who no longer wanted it. I can’t let any vintage vacuum go to the dump, if I can help it. Plus, it’s little. It won’t take up too much space!
As you can see, it hasn’t been pampered. It was the garage/car vacuum for many years. Who knows…maybe since it was new.. I can’t even read the data tag, to see the model number. I don’t know if that will clean up, or if it’s just gone.
Also, you might be able to see that the strain relief has come out of its spot. I don’t know if it’s broken, or if it can be secured back in there. I’m pretty hesitant about opening up the housing to try to fiddle with it. Especially, since I seem to have ruined the nice Panasonic canister that I just got. When I tell you that I’m not mechanically inclined, or that I’m all thumbs, I’m not exaggerating.
My hope for it is to get it cleaned up as best I can, and maybe track down the rest of the bits and pieces that would have been with it. All I got was the hose and crevice tool.
