Well, the rare Johnson-Wax polisher that I won on eBay arrived today. (See my earlier post entitled ]
Oh ********, please don't let it be broken!
Oh ********, pleeeease don't let it be broken!
Oh ********, pleeeeeeeease don't let it be broken!
I was very worried when I saw the top of the handle grip sticking out bare.
Oh ********, pleeeeeeeease don't let it be broken!
Well, the brittle plastic handle made it safe and sound, so hopefully the rest of it is okay as well. Oh ********, pleeeeeeeeeeeease don't let it be broken!

Ohhhhh thank you ********!!!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh THANK YOU ********!!!
One very tiny disappointment -- it's not the model I thought it was. In the listing photos it appears to be metallic dark blue; however, it's actually a dark turquoise. It's darker in color than my similar 'standard' model, but not the still-elusive metallic dark blue model I'm still hoping someday to find.
The handle grip and rubber bumper are gray instead of white, and it has a heavy-duty black cord which I am sure is original because it's got the same exact plug as my other JW polishers, and the cord's outer jacket is the same ribbed vinyl.
It's a model RP-59 btw. "59" designates the year, 1959. I'm not sure what "RP" stands for. "HP" on the other models indicates "Household Polisher." The first turquoise model is an HP-54. I'll have to ask my buddy who used to work for Johnson Wax about it.
Here's the HP-54 for comparison.
Showing the reduction gear system which creates excellent, very powerful torque. Furthermore, note the double-belt system which divides the strain between the two belts. In all these years, with all the Johnson Wax polishers I have or have had, I've never gotten one with a broken belt. We're talking about machines 50 to 54 years old!!
Obviously, I'm not sorry to have this since it's a model I did not have, and in fact did not even know existed. It will be lovely when I spruice it up.
It's just not the metallic dark blue model... *sigh*
