Please post photos of the different versions of the D338. Is that the Lux Royal?

I am using the standard tan and brown one. I will get some photos of all the little features later/tommorow. My nana used it and loved it. A topic from another thread is that the d720 was sold in 1978-1980 in Europe but 1984-1986 in NZ. I cannot find the UK model list so I cannot go back right to the start, I will use the france purification website. Some examples,the z90 was 1967-1969 while the nz z89 was 1966-1968, next model- 1968-1972 NZ to 1969-1972, etc.
I look forward to seeing your photos, Elliot. Btw, which country sold the ZC90 from 1967 to 1969? The UK marketed it from 1965 to 1968 according to its model pamphlet, and Sweden introduced it in 1964. In case you have yet to see the Electrolux Ltd. Their service videos are the best. I don't speak French but for the most part there is no need to even turn the volume up. Just watching is enough. I have also bought parts from them and they are wonderful people to deal with. They don't ship overseas, only within the EU, but I use a shipping agent called Colis Expat. They have warehouses in France, Italy, Germany and the UK. You set up an account at Colis Expat and they have an address for you to use at each warehouse. You have your European merchant ship the goods to the Colis Expat address. When the package arrives Colis Expat notifies you by email and from there you arrange to have the package shipped to your home anywhere in the world. It's a great service.

I was watching a France Purification video on how totake my D775 apart and the French guy was talking incredibly fast in French, then, suddenly he puts a screwdriver behind the wheel and smack, the wheel flies across the room.

That made me wince too ! I have a long T20 Torx bit I sneak behind that wheel to get at the screw hiding behind it to open up my D795.

In Switzerland we had mostly the vacuum cleaners from Sweden. The Z90 was sold 1964-1969, and the D720 from 1979-1981

I found this at the op shop the other day. I found out that the flymo mowert I have is actually a black and decker. Flymo sill makes flying mowers, some are even vacuums. (don't ask me how they work to vacuum while floating, I don't know)

Yes, I have used one and it is great. The flymo brand was the best seller and they were linked to Electrolux. One of my Electrolux manuals/brochures advertised the z73, a NZ specific single motor commercial machine (not the z747), the floor polisher, the Flymo lawn mowers, the Flymo leaf blower/sucker and the Flymo weedwacker/line trimmer.

NZ electrolux is a very tangled story. I will upload photos/scans of my Electrolux literature when it is unpacked in about a year. There are many little branches and divisions as well as wierd models. There is a machine from the late 60s-early 80s that had a cord winder and motor mounted like in a Miele or something but a verticle bag at the front. It was their small commercial machine. It looks very big and bulky. With NZ Electrolux the more you look the more you find.

It seems to be in storage unfortunatly, I will do my best to explain. There is a fan not dissimilar to a hoover 61/612 or similar cooling fan, just bigger, above the blades whice pulls air in from the motor area giving another layer of cooling and pushing air down to create lift. The edges a rounded like on a constellation. They work very well. Most were corded, some were gasolino powered though.

I took some photos and videos of the floor tool on one of my d775s. The video shows how the flexible membrane moves about. It is linked to the air channel, though no dirt goes through it, and when the floor tool clamps tocarpet it sucks the brushes up and when the pressure is reduced because of the small wheels the brushes fall down.

This is the NZ bag system on the z40, z55, z56, z62, z65, z89, z99, z328, z333 and d338. It can be used without a disposable liner or with an internal, open top bag with no rim, almost exactly the same as the bag for a hoover 63 or similar, that goes through the hole in the middle and splays out. The the lid sandwiches it between the rim and the lid.

I had a Flymo mower many years ago. It was blowing where it cut the grass to float and vacuuming up the grass in a box behind.
But on the pics it looks like a blower/vacuum for the leaves.
