A very nice and complete deluxe version of a standard Singer canister on EBay now.(Not mine,but the description could be mine,phrase by phrase.They say imitation is a form of flattery.)But as to the Singer I think this was a Henry Dreyfus design after leaving Hoover and working on Singer stores and products in the 60s.I have a theory that while these standard vacs can work great and last with care customers will sometimes abuse and discard them as they were lower priced.Take a look.The last of the few I have seen was beat and dirty from being moved to a garage.
