Today I arrived home to a great surprise from Fred Stachnik! A Hoover model 51! It's a wonderful vacuum. The vacuum itself is beautiful. It has an excellent set of well-made attachments, and it runs nice and quiet. It has a really cool low tone to it that is easy on the ears. I did a lot of vacuuming with it tonight and had a great time! It's the first vacuum like it that I have ever received! The mechanism that ejects the dirt is really interesting (haha and prolly more effective than their current "self-cleaning" filter design!). Thanks again Fred it will team up with my model 61 so I can thoroughly clean my house...the Hoover way!
This really cool model U4101 Hoover Convertible is also a gift from Fred Stachnik! This is my personal favorite model Convertible that uses a "full hood." It features the wonderful motor and robust construction that makes the Convertible such a great vacuum. I really like the color of the U4101 very much. This is a vacuum that I have wanted since I first layed eyes on one years ago. It's so fun to use! It's one of my "Daily Runners." Thanks Fred!
Now I have the carpets deep cleaned and everything dusted, but I still have to polish those hardwood floors! Luckily I have this charming model 5140 (Double Insulated) Hoover Polisher! It's lightweight and (like all Hoover polishers (and Floor-a-Matics)), it's really fun to use! This was a gift from Tom Anderson and I'm very glad to have it! I really like how simplistic the design is on these machines. They work very well. I hope Hoover never stops making them! Thank you very much Tom for this, and the two Dial-a-Matics you generously gave to me during our last gathering!
This Panasonic MC-661 is a recent ebay find that I think is really interesting. There are a lot of differences between this earlier design and the models that came out just years later (for instance the brushroll has beater bars on it, and the hose runs up the opposite side of the machine than what we're all used to seeing today). It's got an incredibly quiet motor, but the weird brushroll it uses is all out of balance, and the bag door is missing the handle...so I've got some work ahead of me. I just think it's so interesting!
