REPLACING TOGGLE SWITCH ON 1205

Hi All,
My first post and visit. Just given a Electrolux 1205 with a bad toggle off/on switch. How do I gain access to replace it? And or check it's continuity? I copied the photo from this thread.
Thanks,
Scott

The top cover for the 1205 is held in place by screws. Two of them are accessible via the exhaust port. Take them out and you will have access to the switch.
Don't bother testing, just replace it. They are very inexpensive to get.

Sven's advice is correct. There is one Phillips screw directly in front of the switch & two slotted screws underneath the blower port cover. Remove all three screws & the top will come right off. I have linked to a new switch for you, but beware you will need to remove the frame around your existing switch & re-use it with the new one. The switch for the 1205, Golden J, Super J, Olympia & Silverado are discontinued, & the Diamond Jubilee-Marquise-Ultralux switch are the only replacements available. It will require removing the rivets on the frame around the switch & attaching the new one with a rivet gun or small screws.

Good luck in getting your Electrolux back in working order.

Rob
