New Aerus models

I was on Aerus's website today just for fun and I noticed something. They came out with a new commercial upright with on-board tools which looks exactly like the Perfect, Clean Obsessed, and Lavex version. Assuming that Aerus probably got it imported from them unless if I'm mistaken. And the Guardian Platinum canister has a new look in terms of colors that is.

I also found this, there's another new machine I see behind the Guardian Platinum in the video. It looks as Aerus also came out with a new model that uses the same body as the Guardian Ultra but it uses the Classic style powerhead.

Hard to tell for sure with the music playing, but I thought I heard a newer style motor in that model. Almost sounded like a Sebo motor

heh

Just like most of the door to door companies slight changes.

The hose/wand/nozzle doesn't mesh well with the machines. I think the machine body looked better in black though.

It's interesting to see that onboard hose design return to them. Though it's not too surprising commercial cleaners would want on onboard hose for corners, tight spaces, and above the floor applications. It was wise to place the filter on the side of the "L" so that it does not get torn off. I do have to wonder if they've made any changes to the airpath on it. I know the proteam uprights were known to clog at the wand due to it's airpath narrowing at that point

mismatched

That surely is not. complete. The tools and machine do not match. Even the hose color is wrong. Very disappointing for the cost of the new machines. I have also been told the stainless steel trim damages VERY easy.
What a shame. Looks like the tools and hose were made one place and the machine at another plant.

Any word on what the other canister model is in the background? Did Aerus bring back the Guardian Ultra as an entry-level HEPA model, now with a black body? Did the Lux Classic inherit the old Ultra's top trim panel? If this is the new Classic model with new top trim, does it use the Ultra's HEPA filter, or is still unsealed/using electrostatic filters?

I'm not at all surprised about the color change to the GP. Its European cousins changed to white over a year ago (honestly, I'm not sure why the Aerus version took so long to switch over). I don't necessarily believe the hose, PN, and wands are a total mismatch. They *appear* to be a lighter black, almost charcoal grey color compared to the old GP, especially in the video. It seems they are a match for the power switch and the dark grey side trim. Honestly, it's better than Aerus going back to white hoses, wands, and accessories. We know how poorly those aged.

I agree that the power nozzle motor sounds different/quieter.

And it does look like the Guardian Ultra in new colors in the background. Maybe they are just going to offer two canisters. The Guardian Ultra and the Platinum. Maybe they will offer a choice of power nozzles like Miele does for the Guardian Ultra. Either the Lux Classic accessories or the Lux Legacy style. At the price Aerus charges, all of their machines should be sealed HEPA. So maybe that's what is going to happen. Sell out the remaining Classics and Legacy machines and then roll out the Guardian Ultra as the entry level.

@ electro:

That is exactly what happened. These machines are made in Europe by/for Lux International. Aerus LLC imports the machine and adds on their hoses, wands, nozzles, and tools which are made at the Bristol plant.

@ DJub85:

If you go to the Aerus vacuums website, you can click on the brochure which contains a color photo. The wands and nozzle are still jet black like the old Platinums. The reason it appears "gray" or washed out is due to the camera resolution being unable to correctly "read" the eggshell (rough) surface of the nozzle. The fluorescent lighting makes it worse. This was also a problem with the older Platinum models looking "different" under certain camera angles and lighting. In person it was very much black.

I kinda get what they are trying to do here. They are attempting to accentuate the styling/color cues. After seeing the brochure photo it looks better. I think more black on the main canister would've made it "congeal" more.

It's odd that the Aerus models are using the older body style/screen on their model while Lux International has switched to a different, more circular screen/switch style.

I wonder if the Centralux would also offer a choice of three different electric kits? The classic style kit based off of the Lux Classic canister, the kit that they're using now which is based off of the Lux Legacy canister, and the guardian style kit based off of the Lux Guardian Ultra/Platinum.

The Centralux vacuums are bagless-their filter design allows very fine dust to get into the motor-causing the motor to fail. For shat its worth these machines are built in China. The MD dealer here has replaced a number of Centralux vacuums becuase of motor bearing failures.Aerus should go to a BAGGED machine!!!

Hi Rex, I may not be the biggest fan of bagless either. But with the Centralux, I think I could possibly get away with handling one if I were to get one for myself to use. This user when the video was filmed, the Centralux never had motor problems. Also, I believe the current Centralux model is assembled in the states again. At least that's what the manual states but I could be mistaken.

I don’t think that’s a new guardian ultra pictured, rather it’s a frankenvac if you will. Too many parts don’t match up, just my guess. I’ll call that dealer to find out.

The Centralux vacuum in the video is 17 yrs old.The man who owns the unit does take really good care of it.But look at all he has to go thru!!!!Do YOU really want to go thru all of this hassle???Not me! A bag change only takes a few minutes! And no water hoses, you don't get dusty-dirty and the machine is ready to use when you put a new bag in it.Centralux----NO THANKS!!!Will take my MD bagged units over that one anytime! The later Centralux machines were made in China. That US one would have a better quality motor.Aerus REALLY should offer a BAGGED Centralux central vacuum! They could still have the bagless one for those customers that want those.

I honestly wouldn't mind. Afterall I've used and serviced a Centralux before so I would already know of what I'd be up against. And I do love servicing vacuums too. With a Centralux and these aftermarket filters, I'd save on not having to buy as many replacement bags. Plus I could empty mine out and washer the filter at anytime I would want to. And if I accidently sucked something up by accident like jewelry for example, I can easily look through and retrieve it without having to empty the bin out. Also, the E130A from the video has the same Ametek Lamb motor that Aerus continued to use until the release of the E130K which is the current model that came out back in 2014 I believe. That Ametek Lamb motor I think is a good motor. If well taken care of like that user's Centralux, it could last longer than you'd think. But I'll have to admit, I'm impressed with the performance level that the newer one has with it's upgraded 13 amp motor. It's still the only Lux that I'd buy out of all the other models that Aerus would have to offer me.
