Even though I already have several Royal 501 Hand Vacs, I always wanted one with the Electro-Hygiene name, especially considering my connections with the brand. I recently found one on ebay, and it arrived today! It's in pretty good shape but needed some cleanup and the nozzle will need polishing. Made a little bearing noise when I first turned it on but gave both bearings a good oiling and it now sounds like it should! Bag needs dumped, cleaned, and maybe washed. I'm glad to have added this to my collection!

Yes I did and also sold them for a while in 1976. However, we never pitched the hand vacs, the polishers for the tanks, or the Extra Accessories Kit for the uprights, but always had a few on hand at the store in case anyone wanted one. Forgot to mention in my original post, but this hand vac was made in December 1976.
And as an update, today I finished the cleanup, polished the nozzle, and dumped, cleaned, and washed the bag. Now just waiting for it to dry.

Jeff,

I did realize that.
