Hi folks. I'm looking for some help with determining what version Kirby to search for parts online. Kirbys seem to all be catagorized with the different versions as Heritage, Classic, Generation xx, etc. There is no category for the comvac 1600 that I can find.
In other words , what version would I use for the illustrated parts list for my vac.

Thanks in advance, Chuck

I'm trying to see if I can buy the small clear plastic caps that fit over the rectangular lugs on the ends of the brush/roller. Does anyone know what function they even have other than to fill the opening in the floorplate because without them there is a gap .
I'm not talking about the plastic seals on the ends of the brush to keep stuff out of the bearings. Seems ridiculous that you have to buy a 20-25.00 brush to replace .50 worth of plastic caps.

I'd also like to get some suggestions for some reputable online sources for parts that don't gouge you on prices and shipping.

Thanks guys for the info and links so far. Neither of them seemed to have much for the Heritage models but every little bit helps............

You have to remember, the Heritage line was introduced 30 years ago, so in that time, many parts have become NLA or are obscure enough to be a pain to find, but like I said before, send Kent a message and I'm sure he can have a look for any parts you need, both new or used... :)

Also, there are parts sold for the "Legend" models (same thing, different colour & name), so that might yield more results in your search for parts... :)

Pictures of what you are looking for would be extraordinarily helpful!

As for finding parts, I would recommend finding a Heritage/Legend vacuum or nozzle and pulling the part you need out. Frequently vac shops have parts machines you could salvage from.

Not the best pics but I think you can see the problem with the parts in question.

How do you upload more than 1 pic ?

Those bristles look pretty short, and if the brushroll is the solid-axle sort, I'd suggest buying a brand new brushroll, one you get nice long bristles, two you have those plastic ends in place, and three, you have sealed ball bearings in the new brushroll which prevents the bearing being ground down, and there's no axle to bind up with with threads and hair, it all improves brushroll life and belt wear... :)

Everything you need is all in this one package here, and you can get other spares while you're there:

Thanks for the link. I just emailed him a question thru ebay. The end of the roller on the one you show is slightly diff. from mine but if it will work, I would buy it.
