Interesting article,
Just went through my owners manual which states full bag light comes on, nothing about motor shut off.
The full bag indicator light comes on with my machine but motor hasn't shut off. Been through close to a dozen bags already. I kind of wish it would shut off like my lux legacy does. Would be even better if the bag door popped open like my old model luxes

I know, all this conflicting information is quite strange. None of the videos about the machine from Aerus report anything about shut-off either. But still, dysonman1 reports his machine does stop. Perhaps the very early forms of it did and they took it away later fearing it was too much technology to go wrong. Automatic suction control, automatic overheating control, automatic brush roll shut-off, automatic motor shut-off, plus a computer controlled motor would be a LOT of technology. Still, I would hate to see Lux give up on it's most famous technological advancement.

The bag I have in now is pretty close to full. When the full bag light comes on, I will use it with a full bag light for a short while and see if it shuts off. Will let you all now. I have serial number 63 or 65 so it's a pretty early make.

I will check with him, thanks Christopher. The bag in mine now is almost full. With let it run a a while after the light comes and see if it shuts off.

New Info on scent chamber

I have been calling Aerus for months about the scent chamber fragrances. I was told they were not in stock yet. I called Monday and was told they were not in yet and may not be stocked. I wrote Aerus telling them, that was one of the features I was looking forward to and that it was advertized on their website.....They wrote back saying they would not be carrying them. What a crock!!!!!!!!!!!!!They tried to tell me I could use something not oil based in the chamber and any oil would warp the chamber.....There is a youtube video of someone that tried something in theirs and it warped the scent chamber, don't know what they used but.......I have tried putting yum yum in the bag itself, since they are hard crystals, but the carbon filter behind the hepa stops most of the scent....Also tried a cotton ball thrown in the bag chamber with scent on it. Same thing.

They also are sending me 3 new bags which supposedly stopped the bag leakage, don't have them yet....I was under the imppression that I already had the new bags, even though they leak....Aerus needs to get their act together. I have always bought Electrolux products and this may be my last!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say, I am not happy....................

I have had my issues with Aerus and customer service as well. Fact is they are not what they used to be (that coming from an Aerus 20 year salesperson that happens to be my friends father). They still haven't figured out how to market Aerus properly and continue to use ELELCTROLUX to market themselves. It's a dying sales model and many franchises continue to struggle in most parts of the country, even though they have introduced new model air purifiers and the Platinum canister.

The products, parts and service aren't readily available, developed properly or are convenient to find, unless you happen to know a reputable distributer.

The reality is the overall product quality does not = the asking price or final neg. price.

Hi, Daniel, can you give me some more info on the new power nozzle and put up a picture if you get a second. Thanks.

Never saw the scent chamber ever on the aerus Electrolux web site. Didn't even know about till I saw the video Daniel put on U tube.

Since Aerus/ lux gave me a new batch of bags I never had any problem with bag leakage.

•Aromatherapy Option is available on the right side exhaust vent for optional aroma scents.

Aerushome.com>surface>canisters>Platinum>filters and bags tab.

These are for solid cartidges which Aerus refuses to stock..

You cannot use an oil base product or it will warp the holder. This is per Aerus. Total bs that they will not stock these cartridge inserts. Tried to order from overseas, but since I don't read or write in a foreign language, it is useless..even though I found them on a website........

I have a tip for all Platinum owners who wish to have a nice scent dispensed from the scent chamber. In the fabric softener aisle of the grocery store, there are new Gain wax beads, in different scents. I use 'original' and put about 10 in the scent chamber. It's a very nice scent, and it's OK for the machine. Plus, I have them for the laundry as well. Give them a try, you'll like it.

That is disappointing about the cartridges. I had hoped they would contract with someone to make something especially for the scent compartment. I wonder if any of my ideas would work? How about soaking a strip of cloth in lemon juice and letting it totally dry and then sticking it in the scent cup? Someone on the internet said they cut up fabric softener sheets and put strips in there. What about that Scentsy product? It is hunks of wax, but of course it melts. Would the machine get hot enuff to melt the Scentsy cubes? I like the idea of a natural scent source but I don't see how anything would be safe other than what was designed for it. If a cotton ball will melt into it, what CAN you do?

i Believe if a bunch of us do a

Group call to Aerus like in a 8 way call and tell them how we feel about wanting them to provide us with what we were promised, they might Start selling them over here < What are you thoughtS

Any referrals for a reputable dealer? I'm ready to buy!

I'm unfamiliar with the dealers in the Houston TX area and I'm open to suggestions. I'm going to follow suit with what I've read some of you doing by asking for a "cash price" on the Platinum and I'm willing to pay shipping if necessary. I just need an honest reputable dealer to buy it from, someone who appreciates my business. When I bought things for my Rainbow, Ken Bashford in Austin TX was very fairly priced and great to work with. If any of you know of an Aerus dealer who possesses these qualities, please let me know.
